Kara’s second Japanese album. It contains single tracks , Jet Coaster Love, Go Go Summer and Winter Magic. It also contains their Korean track “Step” as a bonus track and a Japanese recording of “Mister” and “Jumping,” which were big hits in 2010.
While only released on November 23rd, the cd received phenomenal record sales. It secured first in blog voting with nearly two times the amount of votes as second place, once again proving their heightened popularity.

2. JYJ- In Heaven
An original Korean album of JYJ’s Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu. The members showed off not only their singing ability as well as their writing abilities and produced the album themselves. The beautiful ballad, “In Heaven” written, composed and arranged by Jaejong particularly called for attention. Ever since it was unveiled on in their concert tour, the master piece has become a fan favorite.
The album had a huge lead on second place on both Facebook and Mixi. Its second place in the blog ranking shows the work was supported by many people.

3. Super Junior- Mr. Simple.
Super Juniors’ 5th original Korean album. From title track, “Mr. Simple” is a cool dance tune, to the member produced medium tempo R&B tune “Y,” and the ‘90s cover song “Ridiculous Imagination (White Christmas), the album is filled with a rich variety of music. The album’s 10 different jackets (1 per member) a type B which contain the song “Superman” and repackage “A-cha” were all included.
Though it was only sold on the import chart, its is 2nd on Tower Records K-pop album charts. Their superior sales point allowed them to over come a 5th place vote in the user voted.

2NE1 『NOLZA』
BEAST 『SO BEAST』
BIGBANG 『BIGBANG2』
CNBLUE 『First Step』
f(x) 『Pinocchio』
FTISLAND 『FIVE TREASURE ISLAND』
少女時代 『GIRLS' GENERATION』

Singles of the Year

1. Shinee- “Replay- Kimi wa Boku no Everything-
This is the Japanese version of Shinee’s 2008 debut single and title of their first album, “Replay.” –something about the tunes composition origin that I’m having a really hard time following, so I rather not translate- Play attention the to beautiful Japanese pronunciation in the Japanese version.
Like the momentum that got the No.1 on Tower Records’ annual KPOP single chart, they also were voted into the Top3 by the users. Symbolized by debuts’ steady advance, it sparkles at the top of Tower Records “K-POP LOVERS! Awards 2001.”

2. Jang Geun Suk- Let Me Cry
Already popular actor with all of Asia’s women, Jang Geun Suk released a Japanese debut single before releasing one in his own country. The painful and internees rock number, “Let Me Cry,” closely resembles his image he presented in his most famous work, “You’re Beautiful.” . Jang Geun Suk’s singing voice dramatically completes the work.
Though it is only ranked 6th by Tower Record’s annual K-Pop single chart, the single got number 1 in all the blog, facebook and mixi user rating. This result demonstrated its presences and overwhelming popularity.

3. Kara- Jet Coaster Love
While the belly rubbing dance from member Hara-chan’s is cute, the sparkling and heart built into unique pop song is what made Jet Coaster Love. After that, like “Go Go Summer !” and “Winter Magic,” it was paid so much attention, it become are original Japanese song. (Hard to translate, but its basically saying they are now Jpop not kpop, which is pretty much the ultimate compliment.)
They won the first place in album section and now are third place in the single section. It is interesting that they received a balance vote from all three user voting sites.

Other nominees
2PM “I'm your man”
Beast “Shock”
INFINITE “BTD”
MBLAQ “Baby U!”
T-ARA “Bo Peep Bo Peep”
SNSD- Mr. Taxi
超新星 “クリウンナレ -キミに会いたくて-”

SNSD fans buy from somewhere else/all super junior sales come from overseas while most of SNSD comes from in Japan.

n/m went to read the actual site. This is all fan voted and has nothing to with sales.

This is all fan voted and has nothing to with sales. Basically, whoever has more batshit fans, wins.

Well, whoever but this together doesn't speak Japanese. I could work on a translation if enough people are curious. Sales did have a spot (it determined the nominees) and than after that it was fan voted). That said, somehow Tohoshinki wasn't even in the nominees. My guess is becuase Japan considers them a "jpop" artist and not a "kpop" artist.

the nominees for album were:
2NE1-NOLZA
BEAST- So BEAST
Big Bang- Big Bang 2
C.N Blue- First Step
f(x)- Pinocchio
FTISLAND- FIVE TREASURE ISLAND
JYJ- In Heaven
Kara- Super Girl
SuJu- Mr. Simple
SNSD- Girls' Generation

Single nominees :
2PM-I'm your man
Beast- Shock
INFINITE-BTD”
Kara- Jet Coaster Love
MBLAQ- Baby U!
Tara- Bo Peep
SHINee- Replay
SNSD- Mr. Taxi
Jang Geun Suk -Let me cry
The Boss- クリウンナレ (Kuriunnare)

Even for being fan voted, I would have expected SNSD to at least place in this poll.

I might have skimmed a bit fast. Its partially fan based , partially store bought. It also seemed to do a lot more with imports/releases sold on the kpop chart than straight sales. For example Super Junior's Mr . Simple got ranked in its position, becuase it was number 2 on their kpop chart, despite lack of fanvotes and not being on the regular. So, in the end, this seemed to be target more at kpop, kpop than j-pop songs kpop artist did. So my guess is a lot of people that listen to SNSD in Japan, didn't even think to vote. Does that make sense?

I posted a full translation below. Either way, its nothing major. It an award show that airs on Ustream.

Oricon no longer shows the running total (or I couldn't find it), but you're right lol. Let Me Cry was far from a flop though for a debut single and if comparing 1st week sales which was higher than KARA's first week sales--I think Jet Coaster Love partly did so well because its sales were donated for the earthquake relief. Don't know why Shinee's is so high tbh, but part of it comes from fan votes I guess and Tower Records' sales are different

Ok, However but this together DOESN'T READ or UNDERSTAND JAPANESE. This is all fan voted. A panel of experts put together a list and then let people vote.

I can do a translation in a bit, but I don't know if you care.

Here's a start. The more I read, (I was skimming earlier) a lot of their sales numbers are coming from the import chart, so it be different than oricon.
