Singles of the Year
1. Shinee- “Replay- Kimi wa Boku no Everything-
This is the Japanese version of Shinee’s 2008 debut single and title of their first album, “Replay.” –something about the tunes composition origin that I’m having a really hard time following, so I rather not translate- Play attention the to beautiful Japanese pronunciation in the Japanese version.
Like the momentum that got the No.1 on Tower Records’ annual KPOP single chart, they also were voted into the Top3 by the users. Symbolized by debuts’ steady advance, it sparkles at the top of Tower Records “K-POP LOVERS! Awards 2001.”
2. Jang Geun Suk- Let Me Cry
Already popular actor with all of Asia’s women, Jang Geun Suk released a Japanese debut single before releasing one in his own country. The painful and internees rock number, “Let Me Cry,” closely resembles his image he presented in his most famous work, “You’re Beautiful.” . Jang Geun Suk’s singing voice dramatically completes the work.
Though it is only ranked 6th by Tower Record’s annual K-Pop single chart, the single got number 1 in all the blog, facebook and mixi user rating. This result demonstrated its presences and overwhelming popularity.
3. Kara- Jet Coaster Love
While the belly rubbing dance from member Hara-chan’s is cute, the sparkling and heart built into unique pop song is what made Jet Coaster Love. After that, like “Go Go Summer !” and “Winter Magic,” it was paid so much attention, it become are original Japanese song. (Hard to translate, but its basically saying they are now Jpop not kpop, which is pretty much the ultimate compliment.)
They won the first place in album section and now are third place in the single section. It is interesting that they received a balance vote from all three user voting sites.
