I think that since SK is generally a country filled with strong consumerism that's why these things matter. Like a friend of mine just recently came from a vacation there and the minute he stepped out of the airplane left and right 90% of the faces he could see were either Super Junior, 2PM, Big Bang and TVXQ whether in posters or billboards or random candy wrappers stuff like that. Of course he only cared about looking at the guys ;p
