Some time ago I met with a music broadcast PD and asked him what he thought was Korea's best dance choreography ever. He answered right away that it was this song.^^

Personally speaking, I've never paid much attention to Shinhwa's choreography but this one always sticks in my mind because of its uniqueness. They were the first ones (in Kpop) to incorporate chairs to this extent and to my knowledge not many other groups have done that to this day. It may not seem all that impressive and flashy but they are pretty darn in-sync and it takes a lot of practice to get all that jumping up and down from the stools just right (and not get injured).

Is it Kpop's "best" choreography? Probably not. But it certainly is one of the most memorable.

That's just my opinion though and I can see why others might not think it's that amazing. If you just don't like it, that's cool.

If you're looking for fancy and non-repetitive, you're right, it's not Shinhwa. Shinhwa's sell point has always been near-100% synchronization, personal detail and unbeatable energy. Their choreography is kind of like t-shirt & jeans; everyone can wear them, but not everyone can rock them without looking frumpy.

You still have to admit, dancing with chairs is pretty memorable.




At any rate, outside of their old kpop era (but still SM stuff), I prefer Shinhwa's 'Wedding' choreo over Wild Eyes.

Minwoo at 0:46, any day of the week, any hour, as many times as you like big boy. And I will never understand how he just pops up onto the stool at 2:31, I mean that stool isn't exactly a big target how does he just do it without any hesitation? And that last move when they jump right down onto the stool, how do they do it without cringing in pain afterwards? Are the stools bolted to the stage so they don't move?

I have so many questions when it comes to this choreo and I am constantly amazed by how they do it. It starts off looking simple then every so often there's one move that just has me all 0_0

IKR? I'm always amazed by those parts!

I don't think they're bolted down because they did these performances on music shows too and there's usually only a few minutes between artists so they'd have to remove the stools/chairs pretty quickly. Plus the ones they're using in that practice photo above look reeeeeally flimsy O_o

Shinhwa's Engrish constantly makes me face palm. I love them to death but their Engrish is just cringe worthy all over the place. Worse than purple line or gingerbread man, easily.
