omonatheydidThe holidays are fast approaching, and a flood of groups like MBLAQ and Infinite have begun releasing their holiday singles.
After dropping an MV for their track “Us, That Day” last month, indie-jazz group Urban Zakapa has joined in welcoming the wintertime with their jazzy song “Snowing” which they produced for a Baskin Robbins CF. Also planned in the festivities is their Merry Urban Zakapa concert later this month, on December 23.
The urban, zappy, kaleidoscopic, and passionate (Get it? Urban Za-ka-pa) vocalists Jo Hyun Ah, deep-bass Park Yong In, and leader/falsetto-extraordinaire Kwon Sun Il evoke the sweetness of the season with their crooning voices as the group’s six-member band’s bells and melodies in the background mimic softly falling snowflakes of a first snow. Their depth in delivery really wraps you in whatever mood they seek to convey.
Interestingly, many of Urban Zakapa’s songs tend to fit the seasons to a tee. For example, the mood in “Crush,” from their first album 01, exudes the hopefulness and joy of spring. In the song “Butterfly,” you can feel the last vestiges of summer, and “While Drinking Coffee” is perfect for sipping some pumpkin spice latte on a windy autumn day.
So when the snow begins to fall, take a walk in the park with your sweetheart, pop headphones in each of your ears, and enjoy the “Snowing” wonderland.
