SOYEON'S TIME HAS COME

It’s been announced that T-ara‘s new leader will be Soyeon, who will carrythe torch after Hyomin.

Soyeon will be acting as leader of the group through promotions for their new repackaged album single “Lovey-Dovey.” Core Contents Media stated, “Soyeon is the team’s main vocal as well as the oldest member (THIS IS A LIE BTW IT'S BORAM WHO IS THE OLDEST -op) so she’s the type with a sense of responsibility. This is why she is now leader following Eunjung, Boram, and Hyomin.”

The leader of T-ara acts as the intermediary between the group and producers as well as stylists for six to eight months. She is also responsible for working on the new album concept.

Soyeon is reported to be showing an entirely different concept from “Cry Cry” when promoting “Lovey-Dovey.” She’ll become official leader on January 1st, 2012.

it's funny, at first i always thought jiyeon and yoona were leaders of tara and snsd because they represent their groups the most during performances.

the concept of leader rotation is great and reasonable, all i care is whoever is selected should have great speaking skills, is inspiring, and have the group members' best interests at heart.

As with all responsibilities in life, I really think it's what you make of it. Workaholic leaders in groups with considerable international presence definitely are valuable IMO, even if they don't do the writing. Also, a leader who is articulate and thoughtful is invaluable should a group go through some kind of controversy or drama .... lol I'm really just alluding to the almighty Sunye here who handles WG's Sunmi, America, "not popular anymore" etc issues extremely well.

Jea is also a good leader. I think CL does a good job too (though I think she can simmer it down a bit, but it's prolly not her fault YG spotlights her so much more), as does Gahee (whose self-spotlighting is transparent but tolerable lol). Same with Gyuri and, pre SM Gate, Yunho.

Shame she doesn't seem to put that much effort in on stage b/c she's got a good voice. Hopefully this new role will allow her to put herself out there more!
