the reverside lyrics sounded a bit different... I can't actually make out what the lyrics means though...my Japanese is so rusty ;A; but from what I can tell it's sort of like in a woman pov?
My playlist for the rest of the week was made the moment FedEx showed up on my doorstep with my copy of the single! Been alternating between relaxing to 'Winter Rose' and jamming to 'Duet -winter ver.-' since this morning. I'm especially amazed by the latter because its arrangement transformed a moving ballad into something upbeat and lounge-y yet entirely appropriate for the holiday season. Suddenly, 'Duet' is a hip little number one can wind down to with loved ones while counting down to the new year and every day after that. I like how Winter is aptly titled and somehow still evergreen.
I find it interesting if a little weird to hear both 'kimi' and 'anata' in the reversible ver. I think the song delivered its premise of dual perspectives well, the complications of singing what seems to be self-narrated duet aside.
