Darkchild Wants to Work With RaNia

RaNia may not be able to get a hit in Korea to save their lives, but that hasn’t stopped international producers from knocking down their sexy door.

After a stint working with Michael Jackson’s producer Teddy Riley (who has since moved on to Girls’ Generation), one of Darkchild‘s producers, Tommy Parker, has expressed an interest in recording new music with the underrated K-Divas.

I’m guessing Tommy was impressed with the group’s stunning crotch thrusts from the “Dr. Feel Good” video?

The hitmaker, who has worked with Darkchild on tracks for Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Kelly Rowland, and Janet Jackson, confessed his love for raunchy RaNia over Twitter.

“I really want to meet and work with Rania, the Korean idol girl group,” he wrote. “I have a strong feeling about them I LOVE their MUSIC!“

Shortly after the Tweet, RaNia’s main vocalist Jooyi (an amazing singer — proof) was quick to respond.

“Hi I’m Rania’s main vocal, Jooyi ! I’m so glad to see your tweet. I hope to work with you, too. Looking forward to meeting you!“

Parker then responded by saying that it would be “an honor to work with you girls in the future.”

Finally, RaNia are actually getting some love. Mismanagement and controversy hampered their debut, and their latest single “POP POP POP” isn’t exactly setting the charts on fire, debuting at a disappointing No. 95 on this week’s Gaon charts. They’re one of the most talented groups out, but Korea just isn’t connecting to them like they should.

It seems that RaNia’s true calling card may be in the international market, both across Asia and perhaps even the West one day. They can speak English (and several other languages), and their racy moves and Jooyi’s soul diva vocals gives them a real international appeal. Teddy Riley already took notice, and now Tommy Parker has followed. Darkchild could jump on board too — he’s already worked with both JYJ and the Wonder Girls.
