Electroboyz
Maboos and Brave Girls member Hyeran released a cover of Tyga‘s Heisman (feat. Honey Cocaine).

The two showcase their unparalleled rap skills in the video in an
attempt to further promote the Electroboyz new single release on
November 17th.

The video is NSFW (Not Safe For Work) as it contains explicit lyrics… you have been warned!

maboos does say nigga, just as an additional warning.
edit: i've more a problem with americans using it than foreigners and i also know it's music, not necessarily how he speaks irl, so a little license is granted from me. aside, the cover was decent and hyeran is adorable even while rapping.

Just cuz a rap has 'nigga' in it, doesnt mean you have to say it. You can easily omit the words, there are no excuses.

OP, why do you have an issue with Americans saying the n-word rather than foreigners?

From: [identity profile] bolingi-aii.livejournal.com
oh ok, Ignore my comment, I see. I just don't believe they're as ignorant as we think. E san recently used the word "Nigger" in his rap and I asked him about it and he never replied. Dont quote me on this but apparently he apologized in Korean which is weird because the people he offended were not Korean and would not be able to understand said apology. Also they knew enough to throw racial slurs at Tasha and Tk's son, so I cant buy that argument anymore.

I can understand where you are coming from, I dont really agree, but I understand it.

As for e san, I think the rap was a diss to AAs, because he always says "yellow monkey? what's you say/call me negroe" I asked him for clarification on the lyrics, but no reply so whatever. Right, theres a level of respect for the people that isnt there.

Or they could be like M!Countdown and not censor it at all. A while back when they had that Dance Special, Infinite's Dongwoo & Hoya had a routine to a song that contained the word and they just let it play. I don't see how they were allowed to go with that at all, 'specially since M!Countdown does cater to the international fanbases.

off topic, but that performance was hot. they totally deserved to win ^^

This is rather late, but I didn't care for that performance. The boys were rather sloppy and the routine wasn't anything special. I thought the win should've gone to another group, but it was fan-voted and Inspirits were kinda desperate for Infinite to get an award for something already.

Okay, I can respect that.

The way I feel, as a black American, is that some of these Korean rappers who end up saying the word are quite knowledgeable about the whole culture of hip-hop, and the fact that they say it in these videos & songs and forgetting that there are international eyes on Korea's music scene these days feels negligent to me on their part. It doesn't matter to me who says it, foreigner or not, the word (or any slur) isn't to be used unless the marginalized folk wants to reclaim it, and even then that's on an individual basis. These Korean artists are fans of the music and the culture, but aren't giving any respect by saying the n-word even in songs.

Wow, I didnt even catch that note OP. Why do foreigners get a pass? do you have a problem with African Americans using the word?

From: [identity profile] angelkitti.livejournal.com
yeah, that was my thought too. Honestly I think nobody should be saying it. It's become part of hip-hop culture and so people who want to emulate hip-hop culture start using it. I live in NYC and I hear it all over the place from people of every race. Not justifying it, but it IS being perpetuated.

I think its for the black community to decide whether or not they want to use it. Everyone else should stay out of the discussion and leave it alone. It isn't hard to take the word out of your vocabulary, no matter how many times you hear it.

the matter of the issue is that america exports that word as something cool to say. if anyone's to blame it's really that industry for encouraging it as a positive thing to say to the rest of the world.

my two cents.

the word has a very specific and complicated meaning to black americans. unless you attempt to understand it or the psychology behind why it's so heavily used, i don't think it's fair to say we are not allowed to use it.

From: [identity profile] bolingi-aii.livejournal.com
the problem is people in AND out of america not taking time to understand the evolution of the word within the black community.

i don't care where you're from, there's no excuse for ignorance. i don't accept any excuse of "they're foreigners so they don't understand the usage of the n-word". if you want to emulate a culture, adapt it, and make it your own, it's up to you to understand what you're dealing with, otherwise, you just seem like a poseur...it's offensive and has no place in k-pop.
