The Secrets are out on 10asia

It is not easy for artists to do well with every album they release with the fast-changing trend of the pop music industry. That is why we are curious of Secret who starting with "Magic" in April and "Starlight Moonlight" in June, have been enjoying steady popularity. Now, they are back with their first full-length album "Moving in Secret" and are waiting to release their second album in Japan. Below are ten remarks by the four girls from their interview with 10Asia which best explain their new album, its title track and themselves.

01. "Love is Move" sounds very much like a rock and roll tune. We'd rearranged and performed Britney Spears' "I Love Rock'n Roll" at our Japanese showcase which I guess our agency thought suited us well and made a song in the rock and roll genre for us this time. (Jun Hyo-seong)

02. The choreography is so difficult that it is probably five times harder than that of "Madonna" or "Magic." [laughs] There were moments we could pose for the last two songs but we can't take a break anywhere for this song. And we dance with our high heels on so it's really hard work. The performance overall is quite unique and fun in terms of our expressions, walking and dancing but our sexy wardrobe makes up for it so I feel that it shows our style in a number of ways that are surprising. But of course, it was extremely tough to prepare it. We even gave up on our Chuseok Thanksgiving holidays and pulled all nighters. (Zinger)

03. After debuting with "I Want You Back," we were thinking that it would be hard to appeal to the public with such a song and were looking for what could be something that only we could express when we went to Real Sound and discovered "Magic." We were able to stand out more because all other groups were going with songs in the electronica genre. That's how we came to start going for that style of songs but we broke away from the style this time and placed a lot of emphasis on our performance. It's as if we gave off the energy we had kept hidden and not been able to show through "Shy Boy" or "Starlight Moonlight." (Song Ji-eun)

04. Singing "Starlight Moonlight" helped us expand on the range of fans we have. A lot of elders can sing along to it when we go to events and mothers and fathers have told us it reminds them of their childhood days because the melody itself is easy. Now that I think about it, I think all of our songs targeted certain age ranges. "Madonna" and "Magic" the young fans, "Shy Boy" from kids in kindergarten to high schoolers and "Starlight Moonlight" the parents and elders. (Han Sun-hwa)

05. We recently finished promoting "Shy Boy" in Japan. It's the second time we went to Japan with our song since "Madonna" in August. With "Madonna," our Japanese fans seemed surprised at our powerful choreography and with "Shy Boy," they really liked and followed along to our cute choreography. (Han Sun-hwa)

06. We still don't have mobile phones. Our agency said we'd get them a year after our debut but then they said we'd get them after we take first place on a music show but didn't when we got first place with "Shy Boy." They didn't give us phones when we got first place with "Starlight Moonlight" either so we went to the boss of our agency and told him ourselves. "Please give us four mobile phones which you can use to manage us. We promise we won't contact anyone outside." But he said, "Sorry. I can't do that for you." [laughs] He did say he'd let us get them next year for sure but... There are times it gets frustrating because we can't deliver our thoughts to everyone else immediately. We sometimes need to wait all day for a response after leaving a message online over something that would get resolved over a single phone call. (Song Ji-eun)

07. We're at a small agency which we're actually proud of because we grew with the agency. And I am a bit scared of how so many idol groups are coming out these days because there could be new singers that come out after preparing really hard like us at smaller agencies. [laughs] (Han Sun-hwa)

08. Releasing a new album after a successful album can only be a lot of pressure on us. Both the members and our group and our agency are pressured about that but there's something that an official at our agency had told us since our debut. "No matter how well or poorly an album does, that album is only one out of many albums you will release. You'll gain something for sure, even if this album doesn't do well. So don't get stressed about your ranking on charts." This helps us trust ourselves and not get tied down to the results. (Jeon Hyo-seong)

09. When we got picked, having a good personality was important for our agency. They talked a lot with us to figure our what we're like and put us together because they thought we'd get along well. It's great and amazing that four people who don't have difficult personalities have gotten together. Maybe that's why but we're extremely loud. [laughs] (Zinger)

10. But it's impossible that we could've gotten along from the very start so if there was anything we were hurt or annoyed by, we'd confess our feelings during a time we'd call 'Secret time.' It was a time we'd resolve misunderstandings and make up by saying things like, "I got hurt when you said this to me" and the other person would say "No, that's not it. I said it because of this." After about a year of that, we now know how the other person feels and have become considerate of each other without needing to spend time doing that. (Song Ji-eun)

i love these girls but i'm not feelin' the choreo for the new song. they look hot and are giving it their all, but it just looks stiff, like they're standing still. i think if they weren't in heels it would look better.
