[OSEN=Hwang Mihyun reporter] MYNAME, the group that was a topic for being the trained by Hwanhee, exposes their image.
Known as ‘Hwanhee Boys’, this 5-member group which consists of leader Gunwoo, Seyong, Insoo, JunQ and Chaejin lived in the netizens’ curiosity. You can even call them a rainbow-like group which is not subjected to any individuals.
We recently met MYNAME who are overflowing with ambition and full of desire. After preparing for 2 years, these guys will take their first step into the music industry with their single album ‘Message’. How do these guys, who will shake the music industry, feel?
“We still don’t feel it. Even now, we’re practicing from afternoon till the next morning. I think the feeling will come when we stand on our first stage. We think that we have to do well, so we spend our time practicing no matter what. Our song ‘Message’ is a very strong song with no space for rest. There will also be b-boying in our choreography, so it is a dynamic performance. We hope the fans will like it.” (Gunwoo)
MYNAME has worked hard on their debut song ‘Message’. They don’t fall behind in every single step and even their expressions. They sincerely introduced their song, saying that ‘Message’ is a song that relates to guys.
“It’s a situation everyone has gone through before. Guys can relate to this song better. It’s about not receiving a reply after sending a text message to the girl you like. It’s a song that expresses the anxiousness in that situation. You can even say it’s a song that everyone can sing and follow along. I liked the structure of the song.”(JunQ)
What is Hwanhee like to MYNAME? It’s well-known that Hwanhee produces for MYNAME. We are curious as to how Hwanhee conducted training with the members.
“He gave us training. From dancing to humanity lessons, we got them all from Hwanhee Hyung. We all call him Hwanhee Hyung. He really takes good care of us. He suddenly came to our dorm bringing snacks, and told us interesting stories and even gave us advice. When that happens, we feel like we should repay him with good performances. There is a famous advice that Hwanhee Hyung gave us. With his tenor voice, he coolly told us, ‘Remember the difference between confidence and arrogance. Don’t become arrogant.’ He might be a hyung like that to us, but he is also like a teacher.” (Seyong)
They said there were many interesting stories with Hwanhee.
“We were all recording together. We were really tired from recording for a long time, so he did impersonations for us. He impersonated the composer..There were many times we got shocked because we thought it really was the composer talking. (laughs) Another time while we were having practice early in the morning, he suggested that we go to the Han River to play basketball. The members and even the staff were all excited, but it suddenly started raining heavily. Hwanhee hyung said “You need to try this” so we had fun playing basketball. In the end we all caught a cold the next day.” (Insoo)
As the interview progresses, you can clearly feel the individuality of the members. Like Bibimbap (T/N: mixed rice), they each have a different color and go well together. We asked the maknae Chaejin about the members’ personal charms.
“I tease the hyungs a lot. The hyungs think it’s cute when I do it, so I’ll show that side of me to the fans in future. JunQ hyung’s charm is his tenor voice and his gaps. If I can’t sleep at night, I’ll talk to hyung beside me and I fall asleep in an instant (laughs). Insoo hyung gets more charming the more you look at him. He always puts in a lot of effort. He is unexpectedly clean as well. haha. Even though Seyong hyung is shameless, he is witty and speaks well, so he gets close to people instantly. He also likes to tease others. Lastly, the leader Gunwoo hyung’s charm is his inner humor.” (Chaejin)
These guys’ role model is TVXQ. They said they want to follow TVXQ’s perfection. When talking about how TVXQ is not lacking in anything, the members also expressed their aspirations for this album.
“Our role model is TVXQ seniors. They are not lacking in anything. Height, singing, dancing, rap, they are perfect in everything. We also want to be a perfect group like them. TVXQ are our final goal and also idols. We want to be a group that does well in everything.” (Insoo)
“We want to tell people our name through this album. We want to hear words like ‘In MYNAME, there is this type of member’, ‘They do well even though they are rookies.’ Of course we want to win #1, but we will work hard for this musical promotions to let people know the name MYNAME.
