tbh i give it an 8 because unlike most other girl groups who released their 1st album this year, the album is all new tracks & explored more variety of music compared to the other girl groups.

zingers solo reminds me of an early 90's rap song, mainly nuthin' but a g-thang. They always promote the song I like the least but overall this album is pretty good.

I think it's a very good first album for them; it feels a bit like a representation of all the genres they've dabbled in.

The only criticism I would have to offer are that the ballads ("Together" and "Neverland") are nice, but nothing special, though I do like "바래". But overall, I seem to prefer their other songs like "Move", "Movie Star", "Bastard".

Oh, and "Sexy" is a nifty little song, it's a little '60s, a little ABBA - it sort of grew on me after a few listens. Zinger's Engrish rap in the beginning is annoyingly cute.

I ADORE Love is Move - it is FANTASTIC. I'm one of the ones who really liked their past two singles, and was thinking I might miss the doo-wop style, but I LOVE their new promo track. It's like - surfing/beach music! :D

A really solid album, I think! I really like all of the songs on this album and even my least favorite song (Sexy - It seems that that song is the least liked in general?) I still like, although I don't love it. Also, I am so glad Zinger did more writing for this album. So proud of her!

I love these girls and I hope this album is successful!

Can I ask an opinion from you, if you don't mind? Have you heard SNSD's album yet? If you do, which is better in terms of song quality, SECRET or SNSD?

I'm just curious of what other people think of the face-off between SECRET and SNSD. Some people think SECRET might stand a chance 'cause The Boys was a disappointment while others believe SNSD's fans will never allow them to lose.

I don't mind at all, m'dear! I haven't listened to the entirety of The Boys - I've only watched the MV for The Boys, so I can only speak about the one song.

So, in terms of the two singles, I do like "Love Is Move" better than "The Boys." I'm not like an expert in music or anything, but I do have some thoughts on why.

I have always found the instrumentation in Secret songs phenomenal and I think it's a clever homage to old styles while effectively being fierce but fun. "Love Is More" is vibrant and is a joyful kind of fierce. I also liked how Jieun's ad libs were finally in a lower range - I've always thought that Jieun is stronger when she's singing in that range (Her "I Have Nothing" performance, for example, remains one of my favorites because she effectively showcases the strength of her voice). I also like how Hyosung shares the chorus and Sunhwa's lines are great. I like Zinger's little singing, although I wish she sang more. However, I do think the song is a bit...busy? It is certainly fast-paced and there are no breaks as it just hurtles along until the end.

"The Boys," on the other hand, just kinda confused me. I really enjoyed the vocal parts, but not so much for the actual melody but for the voices, if that makes any sense. Yoona and Sunny sounded better than they have in a long time and of course, Seohyun and Taeyeon sounded phenomenal as well. The bit with Jessica near the end is great as well. The repeated rap bits seemed unnecessary and excessive to me, however. I was surprised by how I liked Tiffany's rapping, but for the most part, whenever the rap bits came up, I winced a little and thought that they should just stick to singing. The girls looked gorgeous and the music video certainly looked more expensive than Secret's, though.

So in terms of their singles, I personally like Secret's more, but the fact of the matter is that SNSD simply have a bigger fanbase and have been around longer and also have a bigger, more powerful company. There may be a chance that Secret is able to win a little, but it won't be easy. From what I can tell, Secret is interesting in that it doesn't really have that kind of fanatical fanbase that most popular idol groups have. There are plenty of people who like Secret enough to have their songs find success, but there don't seem to be too many Secret stans. So if Secret does find success enough to beat out SNSD, I think it will take the song/performances growing on people and spreading.

Anyway. That is my analysis on just two songs, haha. :)

IA with the rap part. It actually sounds like the teaser keeps repeating itself throughout the song, which kills the song for me (because I've been repeating the teaser while waiting for the MV). Seriously, if someone took the audio and cut the chorus, I think it would actually sound a lot better than the original (less awkward).
