omonatheydidGirl’s Day was showered with love during their recent attendance and performance at the ‘Korea-Japan Festival’.
The girls uploaded a photo on October 3rd through their me2day with the caption, “‘Korea-Japan Festival’ – the reactions of Japanese fans’ were just wow~ We thought it was a Girl’s Day concert. Thank you! Thanks to the 300 Japanese fans who greeted us at the airport as well, we were able to experience our popularity first hand.”
In the picture, Girl’s Day can bee seen doing their cute signature poses in the midst of the enthusiastic cheer from Japanese fans.
With the positive response they received at the event, Girl’s Day’s near future advancement into Japan seems promising. In addition, during February on Mnet Japan‘s ‘Viewer Appreciation Event’, Girl’s Day became the first girl group from Korea to make an appearance in the ‘Kpop Zone’, and received praise from the audience.

Girl's Day's Minah Cast for Her First Film, "Holly and Wannie"
Girl's Day's sweet lead vocalist Minah has been cast for a ballet-themed movie titled "Holly and Wannie" as the leading role!
Directed by Cho Hyun Kyung and produced by Friday Entertainment, the movie is about an American soldier meeting a showgirl named Holly, who works near his station. Holly has a 15 year old daugher that dreams of becoming a ballerina named Wannie (played by Minah).
"Her exceptional dancing skills and innocent looks combined with her hidden acting skills all came together as the perfect package for her to become the leading role of the movie, which is why we cast her for the role," officials of Friday Entertainment said.
Minah is currently spending 10 hours a day on ballet lessons while still attending to her regular schedules with the group. The movie will begin filming in October and is scheduled to hit theaters sometime in the second half of 2012.
Girl's Day's Hyeri Cast as New MC for MTV's "The Show"
The ladies of Girl's Day are busy busy with promotions left and right. In addition to preparing for their upcoming Japanese advancement and various acting activities, the girls will also be taking on MCing roles. Member Hyeri has been named the newest MC for cable channel MTV's weekly music program, "The Show."
"Maknae Hyeri will be taking the baton from f(x)'s Luna and Secret's Hyosung as the new main MC for MTV The Show," officials of her agency revealed.
Hyeri also said, "I've always wanted to be a music program MC so I'm very glad that I've finally received the opportunity to be one. I'll make sure to become an amazing MC that helps 'The Show' shine all that much brighter."
MTV "The Show" records every Tuesday and airs every Friday night!
Sojin Picks T.O.P. as Ideal Man
Big Bang’s T.O.P. has no shortage of fans, idols and otherwise who declare him to be their ideal type. Another singer adds to the list, with Girl’s Day Sojin claiming Big Bang’s cool rapper as her ideal man.
On a recent appearance on a radio show, the girl group member chose T.O.P. when asked to pick an ideal from among Korea’s many actors, models and singers.
“I also like a man whose personality is like SG Wannabe’s Lee Seok Hoon,” she added.
Sojin and the rest of Girl’s Day have just released their music video for “Don’t Let Your Eyes Wander” on the Girl’s Day Youtube channel. The five-member group has also recently made headlines for topping the charts without the benefit of promotions.
Girl’s Day is currently preparing for their advancement to the Japanese market at the end of September.
Minah takes a cute selca before bed
Girl’s Day member Minah recently uploaded two pictures on her Twitter account, charming viewers with her sleepy smile.
With the post, the idol commented, “After coming back to Korea I rested and now I’m about to sleep. We had a successful performance in Japan thanks to you all. Hope everyone has a sweet sleep with sweet dreams. Good night.” With this latest posts, fans get to see Minah not only off the stage, but without make-up right before drifting off to sleep.
