
New singer Fat Cat (Kim So Young) has been gathering attention with some speculating whether she’ll become the next Lee Hyori.
Fat Cat debuted on September 26th with “Indifferent Love“, and immediately began ranking 1st in search terms on various online portals. Her signature “clock” dance in particular caught a lot of eyes. The “tik tok dance” is reported to be created by the same choreographer, Bae Sang Mi of Nana School, who created Lee Hyori’s “U-Go Girl” as well as the choreographer’s husband who is a professor of arts and dance. They’ve previously created dances for fink.L, Um Jung Hwa, SNSD, and Baby VOX.

Fat Cat commented before her debut stage, “I’m one cat? Ended up raising it,” while Bae Sangmi previously commented, “There wasn’t much time for practice, but I’m thankful to my cat who followed me well~ You’re the first one this passionate I’ve seen after Hyori… Hard worker! You have a long ways to go, but you’re the first new artist I’m looking forward to in a while!! Please give her lots of interest <3.”
Viewers are reported to be glad to have seen Fat Cat, who’s a talented vocalist and performer, and are saying that she will be the next major solo singer following Ivy, Lee Hyori, and Seo In Young.
Rookie artist Fat Cat to debut as an actress next year

Rookie artist Fat Cat has been stirring up attention lately for activities unusual of a brand new artist.
It’s just been revealed that Fat Cat has signed an exclusive contract with the biggest drama agency in Korea, Curtain Call Media.
Her company, Yoori Entertainment, stated on October 4th, “Recently Fat Cat has signed a joint management contract with Curtain Call Media, which has produced ‘My Princess’, ‘Miss Ripley’, and ‘Gyebaek’.”

Receiving support under the joint management of Yoori Entertainment and Curtain Call Media, Fat Cat is showing potential as the next Hallyu star.
Fat Cat will also be making her debut as an actress in 2012.
Curtain Call Media stated, “We signed with Fat Cat after assessing her talent and potential for growth as a star. She possesses the qualities of a future Hallyu Star… We will not hesitate in supporting her both materially and morally to help her grow as a singer and an actress.”

With the release of her digital single album, ‘Indifferent Love’ on September 26th, Fat Cat has grabbed the attention of many with her outfits that showcase her individuality and unconventional stage performances, to become the #1 searched term on various portal sites.
Fat Cat continues filming despite injuring her ankle

Rookie artist Fat Cat, who’s made a splash with her debut single, “Indifferent Love”, has touched people with her determination to perform, despite suffering from an ankle injury.
On October 4th, Fat Cat stretched a tendon in her left ankle before she began filming for KBS‘s ‘Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook’. Although the level of pain was said to be hard for one to even stand, Fat Cat refused to cancel.
Her company stated, “Although the hospital told her she must rest, Fat Cat’s strong will drove her to continue… She received emergency treatment and acupuncture on the injured area and returned to the set, filming until the end of the show.”
They continued, “We have to keep an eye out on her condition, but we will try to do our best to make sure we won’t cause problems for her schedule this weekend.”
After she wrapped up her appearance on ‘Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook’, Fat Cat returned to the hospital to receive treatment.
This episode of ’Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook’ will broadcast on October 7th.

The choreography was good, she has a distinctive voice and look and it's not easy to be the sole focus as a solo artist. She lacks charisma but I'm sure that will come with more experience and confidence on stage.
