Super Junior’s 5th album “Mr Simple” sells over 280,000 copies

According to Gaon charts on 9th September, “Mr Simple” which was released on 3th August, has sold 287,427 copies. Only DBSK’s official fifth album “Keep Your Head Down” has managed to sell over 200,000 copies this year. “Mr Simple”, which was released 1 year and 2 months after the fourth album, had already gained much attention from fans all over the world.

Infinite’s first official album “Over The Top” was placed second, which managed to sell 19,302 copies in one month, and an overall record of 48,165 copies in the year 2011. Leessang’s seventh album “AsuRa BalBalTa” was ranked 3rd, with sales reaching 14,222 copies. The song “Turn Off The TV” was ranked 1st for sales in August, while the main song “My Answer Is You” was 8th. “Grand Final” was ranked 17th, and “Remembrance” was 18th, putting up a tough fight.

In addition, T-ara’s repackaged album “Roly-Poly in Copacabana” was ranked 4th, which sold 13, 122 copies. “I am a Singer” was placed 5th with 13, 095 copies.

I love Super Junior and found this album to be half way decent, but this probably has more to due with the individual covers and the two versions, then anything else.


That said, I will love though if the top 3 albums of the years end up being SuJu, Toho and SNSD. Bias is Bias.

unpopular opinion time but BONOMANA is my favorite suju album. People say the album sucked and stuff but it pretty much depends on your tastes. I love ballads and was so sad that mr. simple only had 2. but Mr. simple was a masterpiece because it was like all of sujus past styles all rolled into one album ♥

It's a great album, was surprised how much I liked it.

GDA will be such ~fun times this year tho, since both suju and DBSK want it (and deserve it imo) so desperately for different reasons. Like DBSK came back with an awesome album after all that shit and they deserve that damn thing but at the same time 5jib's the last suju one for a while and a goodass album too. Whatever happens it'll be interesting, getting my snacks ready.

I'm glad it did well. I really like the album and it's the only album were I like all the songs, so I have to save up to buy it still, which will be my first time buying a kpop album, and hopefully the last, because that shit costs money, and I'm a poor El without enough money to be craycray, although I'd like to be.

*feels proud* I bought their album too. Yes, why feel proud buying a CD? Because like most people I never buy anything and download everything. The last and first kpop thing I bought was DBSK's Mirotic which introduced me to kpop. I plan on buying version B and the repackage as soon as I get money. It's Suju's last comeback, or maybe forever. I'm going to support them and enjoy it all I can.

gda is going to be so fun this year; dbsk vs suju vs snsd; who if I am not wrong are making their comeback soon. (oh and also anyone else vying for the top, pardon me if I missed anyone, I don't really pay attention to that much artists outside SM)

Umm... If DBSK's KYHD sold over 200k, and SuJu's 5jib sold 287k, than doesn't that make Infinite *3rd* not second? -_- It's kinda incredible the gap between 200k+ and 48k... congrats to Infinite though, for doing so well. :) That's a big deal.

I am kind of confused though... did Big Bang not do well in physical sales? I would have expected them to sell more than 50k, especially considering it was a comeback album.
(obvs. JYJ's 'Their Rooms' isn't being listed, since it was sold 'as a book')
