Date: 2011-09-02 06:31 pm (UTC)Well, so do a lot of others, for example some of SNSD's Japanese songs who are still amazingly successful in Japan. Not a big deal if you ask me. The Korean chorus of I Am The Best was subtitled in Japanese during this performance, and Korean or English rap parts are quite common for kpop groups in Japan as well. So I wouldn't see it that negatively from a Japanese perspective.
And they got this little introduction bit in the beginning which made it really clear that the girls have been receiving a lot of international attention and that they're not trying too hard to become succesful in Japan as a sort of 'nippon-ized' kpop group. (Though Dara's dragonball hair could be interpreted otherwise :P)
This performance made me realise that I Am The Best represents 2NE1's whole image quite well after all and is a good introduction to what the Japanese audience can expect from them. But yeah, I'm looking forward to possible performances of the other songs from the mini album in Japan, too!
