Solid performance, love it! And I was surprised that Minzy can actually understand and speak Japanese. Oh, and I just realized, there's no "err body's getting freaky" part.
I like that they used this song. It's different from what the Japanese typically like in idol groups. Them debuting with this song is what the Hallyu Wave should be if it's supposed to be like the British Invasion.
I love 2NE1 but YG should have chosen another song. It's their JAPANESE debut and their song has the chorus in Korean and a whole line in english :/ I hope they'll do well but I wish they'll perform another songs!

Well, so do a lot of others, for example some of SNSD's Japanese songs who are still amazingly successful in Japan. Not a big deal if you ask me. The Korean chorus of I Am The Best was subtitled in Japanese during this performance, and Korean or English rap parts are quite common for kpop groups in Japan as well. So I wouldn't see it that negatively from a Japanese perspective.
And they got this little introduction bit in the beginning which made it really clear that the girls have been receiving a lot of international attention and that they're not trying too hard to become succesful in Japan as a sort of 'nippon-ized' kpop group. (Though Dara's dragonball hair could be interpreted otherwise :P)
This performance made me realise that I Am The Best represents 2NE1's whole image quite well after all and is a good introduction to what the Japanese audience can expect from them. But yeah, I'm looking forward to possible performances of the other songs from the mini album in Japan, too!
Lol, Minzy's Japan-exclusive cute little girl voice is back XD
Really impressive performance despite the apparent weaknesses of the song (or this version of it)! If the girls were super nervous (which I'm sure they were :P), they hid it perfectly behind a wall of fierceness.
They always rocked their Korean performances of this song so I expected the same here. They killed it! And the song, while it doesn't translate well, is a lot better without that awful English rap given to CL. They're different, energetic and always entertaining. Love them.
