"Thank you for your support! I am deeply pained and embarrassed to hear that this is still happening...I have spoken out in the past...

...About how I feel and how offensive it is. Unfortunately the war against ignorance seems to be an uphill battle...but not impossible!

I do not think that their intentions were to make fun or offend anyone... It would be unfair for such a beautiful country as Korea to be judged as a whole based on these incidents!

This is not a "one race" one country" problem people!! It involves every human being! The sooner we recognize this the sooner we can work together to fix it!"

I'm glad to see the tweet about their intentions. I think that, while the incident to us Westerners, is inappropriate and offensive, the boys were not meaning to be either of those things when they thought it up and did it. Intention behind their actions is an important factor. And while I firmly believe that the issues with black-face (or any other racial issue) should be known world-wide, unfortunately it just isn't. There are some huge differences between what is socially acceptable amongst countries.

That's why my reaction to the entire thing is much more of a *facepalm* rather than a full out raging *HULK!SMASH*. I do not agree with or condone what was done, but, while I'm disappointed, I'm not going to say that I'm no longer a fan or that I hate all of them for doing it. I'm just not a fan of this particular "gag."

That's my opinion anyway. *shrug*

i think she's a great role-model. and like her entire family is such a unique one, and definitely a GREAT on since they're so close-knitted and stuff. and they definitely don't mind coming clean with opinions, and make sure they're at least tactful when doing so.

good for her to stand up and say something. but idk, korea is so wired, its not like theres NO ONE in korea who doesn't know this shit is wrong. at the same time though korean media is so bent up on being clean and censored so for something this bad to get past censorship i think there has to be a level of ignorance here.

I understand people saying "their intentions were good" but I'm sorry I grew up in a country outside america and even I knew racist jokes were always a no no. They have internet and resources to find out what is going on, so the "they didn't know" excuse isn't working with me. Unfortunately is more of an issue of the country/culture condoning this type of behavior than of those boys being offensive.

It's good that someone is speaking out about this. They really need to realize that it's racist, and apologize.

So much offending in the past month. First Start King offends Muslims and now a sports day is offending black people. I mean come on Korea, being ignorant is not an excuse. If they really care so much about their international fans, why do they keep doing offensive things?!

i don't think they really care about international fans as much as they make it seem to be. they are still doing this for korean viewers mostly and that's why they probably don't care if it's offensive to some people (in or outside of korea). :(
