The questionable standards of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family have been highlighted once again with the second ban of Block B’s debut track, “Freeze!

As reported earlier,
the song was banned by the MOGEF earlier this year for containing lyrics describing unwholesome dating methods. Two lines in particular were judged to be unacceptable: “Send all of your friends home”, and “I’m waiting for you right here.”

Fans questioned the ban, especially since the lyrics didn’t mention any alcohol or sexual activity.

Nevertheless, Brand New Stardom decided to re-edit the lines to “My eyes are already watching you”, and “This night is waiting for you”. They resubmitted the song for re-evaluation in order to put it in their “New Kids on the Block” release, and the MOGEF passed the edit, allowing Block B to re-release “Freeze” through their mini-album.

However, on August 27th, MOGEF had banned the song once again without giving any notice to the company or its artists, and they did not provide an explanation detailing why.

Block B fans hoping to attend fan signings have begun to protest, especially since the album is no longer available for sale to minors.

Member U-Kwon commented on his Twitter, “Kids can’t listen to idol music anymore.”

In other related news, Block B will be going on a four-city nationwide Japanese showcase tour next month, all of which sold out within three minutes of going on sale.

I'm starting to wonder who at Brand New Stardom must have pissed someone at The MOGEF off because this shit is really starting to get ridiculous. Can y'all PLEASE go do something PRODUCTIVE, instead of fuckin' around with the same song that's already passed your little ~tests~?
PLEASE&THANKS.

On a happier note, congrats to the boys for selling out all four shows!!! *PROUD NOONA* <3

Yeah, I agree. Recently I've been hesitant to even comment on certain things because I'm afraid of getting chewed out for having a different opinion than others on here. It doesn't feel nearly as friendly as it used to. :( Why does everyone need to be rude to sound cool?

Stop having songs with lyrics, Block B.
Just make some whale noises in your songs. There's nothing more wholesome than whale noises.

Date: 2011-08-27 08:34 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] strawberry-efeu.livejournal.com
lol no, then the Ministry would say that they think the whale noises are actually whale mating calls, and the songs should be banned because of that. Look what happens when people put totally innocuous English in their lyrics. :|

This is ridic, at least other things that get banned mention ~alcohol and provocative behavior~. This? This is just regular lyrics. It seems like they have beef with BNS tbh.

This is. Fucking ridiculous. :| The first time I just...had to stare and THINK about how telling your girlfriend you wanted to spend some time together, just you and her, was "unwholesome". I have this little picture of Zico happily walking through a park at dusk smiling with his girlfriend in my head.

These guys are such pervs. :|

Oh God I can't with them sometimes (most times)...though tbh "I'm waiting for you" (if you look at it stupidly, a la MOM), could be sexual.

...I am not trying to give them excuses though; I think the original lyrics were totally fine.

From: [identity profile] laeryn.livejournal.com
But you have to actually be purposely think dirty to get the sexual meaning of "I'm waiting for you", otherwise the sentence is absolutely harmless xDD
