On August 25th, SBS announced that BoA would be joining their illustrious judging panel for their K-Pop star discovery program, ‘Survival Audition K-Pop Star‘!


Representatives of SBS revealed, “BoA will be joining YG’s Yang Hyun Suk and JYP’s J.Y. Park as the third judge for ‘Survival Audition K-Pop Star’. We’ve completed one of the best line-ups representing the best judges in Korea.”


The producers of ‘K-Pop Star’ added, “BoA is one of the first idols to let the world know about Korea. She’s definitely the best world star with amazing live singing and dancing skills. She’s famous for her sincerity and work ethic, as well as for her strong foreign language skills, which makes her the standard for everything a K-Pop star hopes to be. We’re looking forward to working with her.”


BoA commented, “I’ll be choosing the contestant who has individuality, determination, passion, and the persistence to continue to develop their talents.”


Representing the ‘Big Three’ agencies in K-Pop, BoA, J.Y. it's been 8 months actually! :c but even so we also had 'my only one' from the paradise ranch ost, but it's also been 7 months since that lol. ;\

she's been in the studio since last month recording for something and she/avex has said she'll be releasing new japanese material either late this year or early-spring 2012. we'll just have to wait really! :')

B it's not like the plans for 2NE1 singing the song ever came to fruition; not nearly where Seungri took it. This was in the middle of Seungri's promo period for Strong Baby too, so I find the mistake rather egregious, to be honest. Not a secret to YGE fans how YG treats Seungri, but yeah, still not a good PR moment for Yanggoon.

Early '09, or at the very latest mid-'09. One of the Superstar K contestants sang Strong Baby for their audition and YG was like, "Who's this song by originally?" and Hyori (who was also a judge) was like, ":O.......Seungri....".

There are so many of these survival competition programs on TV nowadays. Another one seems unnecessary, though I guess this one has the added sparkle and shine of having these 3 agencies attached to it.

I'm a bit worried about BoA being a judge because I can see her being a target for netizens and antis since she's a female with little variety experience who is much younger than the other judges. And reporters are always writing random and exaggerated articles about anything. As a fan though I'm excited. (: Apparently Superstar K wanted her as a judge too but it seemed unlikely since SM is involved with this program, but either way she'll be on TV weekly now. I hope she'll relax and be comfortable, since she's never really been on Korean varieties much.

And happy 11th anniversary to her! Amazing flawless queen. ♥ It seems like SM released this news today on purpose as a sort of present for fans. I can't believe it's been a year since her comeback already. Hopefully we won't have to wait another 5 years for her 7th album!

idk as nervous as her fans are for any criticism she'll receive for her background experience/judging, we have to remember that we don't get to see this side of her often (or at all actually!). i mean when you get past small tidbts of advice she gives to newer idols and those in her company, we realize that she more than anyone probably knows what's best. and yeah superstar k ended up choosing tasha to judge again. :')

it's weird i don't even allow myself to watch her 6th album comeback stage from last summer that often because my emotions get the better of me lol. ;;

I'm definitely excited to watch the show for her as I think that there are very, very few people who are better qualified than her for this type of judging position. She pretty much set the standard for what these young singers nowadays strive for and I think that she'll give sound advice and tips. But some netizens will nitpick at anything and Korean reporters sometimes just write up sensationalized nonsense. Also, I guess I'm more inclined to worry given BoA's history with antis. But people have shown a positive reaction so far, and it'll be great to see her face weekly on a non-music program for once! :)

Omg, her comeback performance! I've never anticipated a performance the way I anticipated hers. 5 years of waiting, man. And I'm already so impatient for her 7th album ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ
