Someone give her a Girls' Day' "Nothing last" song please (I've actually think that this is only kpop girl group song who would use a little bit more of her potential as a singer).
I think Hyorin is too loud sometimes, I like Soyu's voice better, it's better on my ears. But Hyorin is very consistent during live performances (during How Dare You promotions she would belt her eyes out but wouldn't stop dancing), plus she has a very good range. But that's pretty much all I can say :~
I think people are wow-ed by Hyorin is mostly because of her vocal acrobatics. and that is usually what leaves people with a good impression, however i feel like she lacks a lot of emotion, and is really bad at building up a song and has the habit of roaring through. especially with the tone of her voice it's really not that hard to sound like she's shrieking when she sings adlibs. and after her duet on immortal song 2, i feel like she isn't quite there yet to be harmonizing with another singer or connect with them just yet.
I don't think Hyorin is the best but that she has great potential. And she proves that it's not impossible to sing well and dance at the same time. I agree that she can get a bit shout-y at times, and I don't see her doing any emotional duets anytime soon.
I'm not fond of Hyorin's way of singing either. I kinda dislike it when a singer with a good loud solid voice keeps shoving it down my throat. She lacks finesse, she lacks creativity in her singing not to add technique. She has a long way tbh imo. She on,ly mimics what other great singers have done before and keeps pushing her voice to show us that she has one.
i like both girls, and while eunji may lack the stage presence hyorin has, i like her voice better i was blown away by her duet with huh gak in the united cube post
I knew she had a fantastic voice, but I didn't know HOW fantastic. She's my fave in A Pink, and she's totally wasted there. I remember reading that she wanted to become a vocal teacher but somehow ended up in the whole idol mess. She needs to get more exposure as a vocalist! I'd really like to see her on Immortal Song. She'd do so well on that show... but I don't know if they'd allow a vocalist from a lesser known rookie group.
her talent is wasted in apink, sure, but at least it's a way for her to make a name for herself. other than IU, i can't think of an young female singer who has succeeded solo despite great vocals (forever hoping for a maydoni comeback!), so at least through a group it might be easier to get some exposure and recognition.
