This video of f(x)'s Victoria performing as a Beijing Dance Academy dancer recently emerged on the internet. In it, we can see Victoria displaying a more distinct and folk style through a modern dance act, very different from her present work as a member of f(x).
(She's wearing a pearl necklace and is on the viewer's right at the beginning)
Before being cast by SM Entertainment and becoming part of girl group f(x), Victoria (Song Qian) was part of Beijing Dance Academy where she learned all sorts of dance including ballet, traditional Chinese dance and tumbling. The Beijing Dance Academy, also known as Beijing Dance Institute, is the only institution of higher education in dance in China. Notable alumni include famous actress Zhang Ziyi, and former member of the South Korean boy band Super Junior Han Geng.

Date: 2011-07-27 01:55 am (UTC)although the choreographies she gets in f(x) doesnt make her shine, but i'm always surprised at how fast she's at learning choreographies. and i'd love her to perform traditional chinese or ballet one day, of course her tumbling is amazing too(but after seeing the same movements again and again...).. i just really wanna see her fullest potential. kinda like with han geng, he was always talking about traditional dancing with so much pride and danced it with so much pride too.
