If you pick up a copy of the August 2011 issue of National Geographic, you will be able to find a featured article entitled "Land of Shadows," describing Myanmar's (Burma) slow ascension and recovery from civil strife. Browse through the gallery and you will see many visually appealing photos taken by cameras that are worth as much as your car.

...and then you notice even Myanmar cannot escape idoldom (isn't Rania touring there or something?)...

i'm half a myanmar :3 my mum's from myanmar even tho i'm a singaporean. been there twice and true enough they're the land of shadows. it's beautiful though, best place ever on earth. ♥
