Take a look at the two celebrities that will be receiving the first ‘Rising Star Asia Award‘ at the upcoming ‘New York Asian Film Festival’s ‘Korean Film Night’ on June 24th.
Actor So Ji-sub has been nominated for the ‘Rising Star Asia Award’ for his acting in the recent film, ‘A Movie is a Movie’. As for actress Gong Hyo-jin, a number of films she starred in have been nominated but she is receiving the award for her acting in the film, ‘Miss Carrot’. Both So Ji-sub and Gong Hyo-jin did a great job in their recent works and it’s even better that they are getting recognition for it overseas as well. Who knows, maybe this will be there chance to get a bigger bite out of the “hallyu” wave that’s been spreading.
The 8th annual NYAFF will begin on June 19th and last until July 5th at the New York Manhattan IFC Center and Japan Society. Films from a number of Asian countries including China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, etc. will be shown at the NYAFF. Congratulations to So Ji-sup and Gong Hyo-jin for nabbing the first ‘Rising Star Asia Award’!
