On July 6th, singer Jung Yeop finally came forth to clear any misunderstandings regarding his sexual orientation.
Brown Eyed Soul’s Jung Yeop from the popular TV show, “I Am A Singer“, was interviewed on this week’s SBS “One Night Of TV Entertainment”, where it was revealed that the main reason for his popularity amongst female fans was his “softness“. Jung Yeop admitted, “I do have a soft spot in me. I like planning dates and events.”
He added, “I once made an album for my significant other which contained pictures I took with my camera of all the places we went together, like seats we sat on together, and the first time we went to a convenience store together. I’m very positive towards love. I feel the most important thing in life, is love.”
When the interviewer began the topic of a few opinions and misunderstandings that have been surrounding the singer recently, Jung Yeop clarified, “There are a lot of people who ask me if I like men. There’s even been a time when it was a related search on search engines.”
“However, I am a male and I like females. I just find it funny when people talk about me in that perspective. It makes me think, ‘Am I really like that?’, but really, I’m a full male.”

Date: 2011-07-06 03:24 pm (UTC)Still attitudes like that in America....so you can imagine how bad it is in Korea.

Date: 2011-07-06 03:22 pm (UTC)Why do reporters even ask Korean celebrities this question? It's not like anyone of them will say: "Yes. I'm gay. And now for the weather!"
No. It's not gonna happen. They all always deny it, and that is understandable given Korea's views on homosexuality. So stop wasting people's time and the celebrities time with this question.
And I always laugh at fans who go one about: "Well, Oppa says he is not gay! So it is the truth. My oppa doesn't lie. He talks about women all the time"
Yes! Your Oppa does lie...especially when it comes to this....because your Oppa isn't stupid! Your oppa knows if he ever comes out..he will be shunned and his career destroyed. So Yes, he will talk about women all day every day...doesn't mean he is not gay. This is Korea...not America. Wake up!

Date: 2011-07-06 03:39 pm (UTC)True it doesn't make what he said any less insensitive, but that's just the mindset of the general korean public.
For all Korea claims to be 21st century, they still seems to have a hard time letting go of thier old school prejudice's.
but yeah, that was just going too far.
