SM Entertainment's Zhang Liyin is confirmed to no longer represent Eithtoo, the Chinese clothing company who recently featured her along with SHINee and f(x). On a press release sent by Eithtoo yesterday, they have announced their decision to withdraw Zhang Liyin as one of their product endorsers.
According to the company, they originally asked for SHINee and f(x) to represent their brand but due to f(x) Amber's injury at the time of the campaign, they decided to make Liyin her replacement. The replacement was decided based on the male and female ratio of the advertisement and it was revealed that they asked fans for their opinions on who would be best as Amber's replacement.
Currently promoting with f(x) in various music shows back in South Korea, it was also confirmed that Amber will be returning to promotional activities including Eithtoo's new campaigns.
As for Zhang Liyin, SM Entertainment has decided that the brand did not suit her and will not longer represent them in their new campaigns and events. Closing their press release, Eithtoo apologized to Zhang Liyin's fans for her withdrawal and for not renewing her contract.
This has not been the first time the brand has apologized to her fans, after they previously introduced Zhang Liyin as a member of f(x) on their updates via Weibo at the beginning of their advertisement campaign.
What are your thoughts on Zhang Liyin leaving Eithtoo and being Amber's replacement?

This is nothing surprising but it's disappointing to read, "SM decided the brand did not suit her"...

Date: 2011-07-05 02:02 am (UTC)She's so young, it would fit her so much better with a more youthful concept. I hope they get their act together and give her the god damn promotions she's been lacking. + i think a korean comeback would be good... Not enough solo artists promoting right now, she'll bring something new to the kpop scene with her amazing voice.

Date: 2011-07-06 01:06 am (UTC)That seems to be my reaction to everything I read about Liyin. SM is so uninterested in her. I have long since given up on them doing anything seriously with her anymore. I just feel so badly for her, stuck wasting away in a company that couldn't care less about her. She's so talented, it's a real shame.
