Mnet Japan To Air "Miss Ripley"

MBC's current Monday-Tuesday drama, "Miss Ripley", is set to premiere in Japan on August 13th through Mnet. Prior to the drama's premiere, a "highlights guide" will also be broadcast on July 30th, Saturday.

Several scenes from the drama were shot in Japan and the drama's early story line also included several notable Japanese influences - including JYJ's Yoochun speaking fluent Japanese. The drama boasts of a star-studded cast - Lee Dahae, Kang Hyejung, Kang Seungwoo, and JYJ's Yoochun - as well as production by Han Hee, who has worked on several MBC dramas such as "Mischievous Kiss" and "Personal Taste". 

"Yuchun’s New Drama “Miss Ripley” Highlights Guide" will air on July 30th from 11:00 PM to 12 midnight, with repeats on August 2nd from 2:00 AM to 3:00 AM and August 3rd from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. "Miss Ripley" will air via Mnet Japan on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:45 PM to 10:00 PM, with repeat broadcasts on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10:30 PM to 11:45 PM and Saturdays from 10:30 AM to 12 noon.

Miri pisses me off so much in this drama. Thus Lee Da Hae is doing a great job!

Seriously she treats Hee Joo like crap and doesn't seem to actually do anything at her job besides flirt with her boyfriends. I realized that men in Korean dramas are completely stupid around a pretty face.

lee dae jae is doing a great job and I'm so torn about her. one on hand I'm rooting for her because all the crap that she went through, but then when she goes behind heejoo's back and basically steals everything from her, I'm um girl no. It is nice to see a female lead like her though. She certainly isn't a damsel in distress or a pushover.

Idk I have a soft spot for heejoo, particularly because I'm kang hye jung biased. at this point I want her to get with chuljin because apparently yoonhyun is too dense and in love with miri to realize how great heejoo is.

Same. I always feel bad for her when she is harassed by her pimp but then she treats others (Heejoo and previously Yoohyun) like crap and I get so irritated. But she is definitely a nice change in female leads. This is probably why I'm actually getting through this drama.

Heejoo is precious but I want to smack her upside the head. You don't leave important documents laying around! Especially if you know that Miri already stole from you once sfsfsf And she lays down so easily whenever Miri is a bitch to her sfjsld STAND UP FOR YOURSELF GURL.

Yoohyun, I don't understand him. Why is he so in love with Miri when after she has treated him so rudely. Rooting for Chuljin/Heejoo as well :)

I like it and then dislike it at the same time. Idk it's interesting to see how far the female lead will go before she comes crashing down. there are rarely female leads like her, so it's refreshing. although most of the time I want to choke her. But yeah it's a melodrama so it is rather depressing and I've been taking my sweet time watching it.

I found the storytelling to be really weak up until episode 5 or so. They would introduce scenes/characters without any reason why. I had to read dramabeans to get what was going on. But yeah it's the atypical melodrama and I guess I like frustrating myself since I'm still watching lol.

Think that was when she stopped being the Jang Miri who was trying to survive and became Jang Miri the greedy social climber. Its crazy how careless she has been lately with her lies, and I'm pissed that the Professor didn't take Moon Hee Joo's accusation seriously, it wasn't hard to tell that Jang Miri's was a copy. Sigh those old men are a sucker for a pretty face and skinny body. I was so happy when Moon Hee Joo finally slapped Jang Miri, I hope she goes ahead and tells on her, enough is enough.

Yea, I hope she gets with him too. He seems to be the most logically thinking male in the entire drama. He's the only one whose been able to see through Jang Miri's crap. I hope he can continue to convince Hee Joo to stick up for herself, she's too easily guilted by Jang Miri and her "love" for Yukata.

I also love this drama.
I actually root for Miri lies when she use it to survive..
But then when she fall for greed and start to justify all her need, I want her to fall and Hee Joo to take her down. And I think HJ just about to reach her patients. Even now, her motives is not to protect Miri anymore, it's for her love for Yoohyun. As stupid as it is, I hope she is jealous enough to blow up Miri lies.

IA! I was all for her in the beginning because she was thinking smart and literally trying to survive, but not only has she gotten greedy, but she's so careless now. Now she's taking Hee Joo's work without even making any effort, the old Jang Miri would have probably made a couple changes to the sketch. I think since she's gotten this far, she feels like she doesnt have to work as hard anymore, but she's forgetting that the fall is going to hurt a lot more now when she gets caught. I need Hee Joo to step up, she cant let Jang Miri hold the past against her forever. If anything she should realize that letting Yukata marry such a heartless and conniving woman like Jang Miri wouldnt do him any good lol, if she loved him, she would snitch :3

Awesome, good for them. Especially since Lee Dahae *needs* some good press with how she's been having such bad luck lately.

I've been just reading dramabean's recaps for now since I need to finish another drama before I start this one. Plus, it's causing heart palpitations already with recaps.

Besides the plot (though I cringe at all these coincidences that've piled up) I actually find myself drawn towards it because this is more like the 2nd female lead getting to have her story displayed. If it was a typical drama it would be Heejoo's story (cause let's face it, she has so many of the traits those friggin' Candy characters share) with the bitchy 2nd lead as Miri.

Granted, if it was I would have a severe case of male 2nd lead syndrome because Yoo's character (whose name I always forget)should be with neither lady. Much more of a HeejooxChuljin and MirixMyunghoon stanner.

I actually ship those pairings too. chuljin is awesome and he seems to be the only guy with any sense and hopefully heejoo can see he's been there for her all along. And I also agree about miri and myunghoon. idk I find their dynamic intriguing.

and tbh that's why I'm drawn to it as well. it's so interesting and refreshing to see a female lead like miri. Although tbh I'm waiting for heejoo to reveal her lies. I want to see more of heejoo's bitchy side.

Oh my Deity, yes Chuljin is the only one with sense. He pretty much is the poster boy of "normal human being surrounded by SNAFU". Gotta heart him for that. Yeah, I really find their dynamic intriguing too. Quite frankly Myunghoon I ship more because so far he's actually seen more true sides of Miri and still is all crazy for her. No telling what'll happen with Yoo when he finds out Miri isn't the image she put forth.

I'm cackling with glee everytime it looks like Heejoo is going to let her bitch side out. It gives me hope for less nicey-nice female leads in the future because waaayyy too many are made out of sugar. Not to mention Miri will really have her life spiraling out of control between Step-Mom and Heejoo.

Yeah, Step-Mom is definately all on Miri's game. Granted, it helps that she seems to be a veteran of social climbing herself. Keeps Miri (and us) on our toes.

I'm another one hoping they don't take the obvious route of Step-Mom equals Miri's mom. While it can have force it's just so damn predictable. There's been quite a bit of the faux-incest lately. Bad enough Yoo's folks are placing Miri under Mommy Replacement and you can't really disagree so far. If they really want the family angle, make her an aunt or something. That would at least change it up a lil. Cause sadly, with how much they've talked about it, the mom angle is definately going to be addressed.

i want to watch this drama, but I'm taking my sweet time to start, because my usually reaction to k-melodramas is to rage at the show's characters for being so greedy/naive/stubbornly prideful, etc. and I really need to be in the mood for that kind of emotional meltdown, lol.
