Actress Kang So-ra revealed a picture from the past.
On the SBS TV program "Kang Heart", Kang So-ra said, "I was 72 kg when I was in school".
"I love bread and pastries. Eating them as snacks and not a meal made me gain weight".
She couldn't wear what she wanted then, and her 30-inch waist didn't make it easy to find anything in a female section so she had to find clothes that fit at the male section or find baggy hip hop clothes in Itaewon. She was also tall and well fit so many people thought she was an athlete.
After deciding to go theatrical school, she started on a diet. "I lost 5~6 kg with only eating 3 meals. I made sure I had my 3 meals of the day". Sin Dong-hee then agreed with her and said, "Only eating 3 meals a day makes you lose weight".
Having succeeded in losing weight with the right diet and working out, Kang So-ra said, "I am maintaining my body without any side effects for two years now. With permission from my management, I get to eat bread and pastries once a week".
Those who saw the program say, "She's pretty even when she's bloated", "She's even prettier and cool for confessing it truthfully", "She's not like Kang Ho-dong at all, she 's so cute", "Body is important for girls" and more.
The cast for this days program includes, Koo Bon-seung, Kang So-ra, Kong Hyeon-joo, Seol Woon-do, Alex, Park Hyeon-bin, Jeong Jong-cheol, Yoon Hyeong-bin, Secret's Hyo Seong, voice actress Seo Hye-jeong and more.

Date: 2011-06-29 02:58 am (UTC)I wouldn't cal her obese or anything before, but with her height (168cm according her website) puts her slightly into overweight category (not that bmi is absolute measure for anything. I STRESS that it was slightly) and while the diet is healthy compared to most kpop ones, its actually technically better for a person to eat 5-6 small meals than 3 regular sized meals. But overall she sounds really healthy and looks really pretty. :)
Oh, and just a little fact: a 30-in waist should be a size 10 in American size, so either people here have average size hips (how jeans fit now a days relay more on your hips than waist (a 4/6 is anywhere from 36-39 inch hips) or the sizes are crazy inflated. Or a bit of both.
I want to go to Korea to shop now. ^^;
