THE GREAT ESCAPE was fierce as hell. I'm hoping they'll start singing live soon though, they can and Japan really is the place to get your live singing to the next level.
I have a question that may sounds a little biased...
Did someone watch the live stream of the red carpet? Seemed like MTV cockblocked SNSD... it was like, the announcer was supposed to say the name of the artist and then the camera would turn the camera at the side of the artist and stuff... And this happened with everyone, including SHINee... but when SNSD came out at the red carpet, the camera didn't turn for them, and was just filming DJ Kaori giving autographs, but the thing is... we couldn't even see her because the bodyguard was in front of the camera, but the camera still prefered to film thhis than SNSD...
And everyone after walk the red carpet would go at the host and give a interview, everyone (I think that AKB didn't, someone correct it me if I'm wrong), but SNSD didn't had their interview, I only saw them by photos, but MTV didn't show nothing...
OK, I will stop to complain and comment about the performance, lol.
I realized that SNSD was flawless BUT not enought to catch everyone's attention with MR TAXI and Great Escape... I was kinda of disappointed. they could've perfomed a Genie medley, because Genie it's the song that they were nominated to begin with, and besides, they would be more confortable to sing a song that they know so well...
i love soshi but meh, i still don't really like the great escape and every time they filmed seobb i got bored, i just can't care for anything she does, i don't hate her and i don't think she is untalented, but to me she is just... there.
lol It's a so-so performance and I don't like the outfits. Also, Jessica just can't dance anymore, how sad is that. How does one go from one of the best dancers to an awkward, uncoordinated mess omg. But hey, they did that lulzy dance move from The Great Escape again so I got to enjoy that.
Lastly, this needed more Sooyoung. She's been flawless in japan.
They lipsynced The Great Escape but it's expected since they're so tired out from their non stop concerts. I noticed that they were nowhere to be found during the ending. I suppose they left right after their perf due to their busy practice schedules. ;~; I was expecting some interactions with AKB.
The one thing SNSD have going for them is how excited and happy they looked, despite the bad choreo for Great Escape. It's great to see Taeyeon so excited, dancing across that stage and owning it. I seriously think she likes their Japanese music a lot more than their Korean lol.
A small part of me hoped they would perform a Japanese Hoot/Mr. Taxi medley lol. Great Escape is such a weak song to promote :\
Am I the only one who likes the choreo for The Great Escape? Then again, it's probably my favorite song by them, so they could spend the whole performance just stomping their feet and I'd love it.
i love TGE but i still can't get over what a hot mess the choreo is. i know snsd is known for their arm dancing but seriously, there's a limit to how much arm dancing there should be before it just looks ridiculous.
As much as they did amazing for TGE, it's still my least fave of the album. I mean, imagine how Bad Girl or Beautiful Stranger could be...it just felt like an upgrade from their usual TV performances though I LOVE when cameramen do aerial shots of SNSD's performances ♥
