A terminal cancer patient who was denied a flight home to South Korea has now died, according to KING-5.
Crystal Kim was at the center of a controversy this May after Korean Air refused to allow her on a flight to Seoul, even though she had purchased a ticket and had been cleared by doctors to fly.
Kim had stage-four breast cancer and wanted to spend her final days with family.
Korean Air said they were concerned that Kim would die during the flight and did not want to traumatize other passengers.
Crystal and her daughter, Mimi, booked another flight on Delta Airlines, which allowed her to fly first class for free five days later.
Kim died peacefully in her sleep Tuesday. She was 62.

Date: 2011-06-01 10:22 pm (UTC)It's really sad, but most airlines (delta included) do have policies about flying patients with certain illnesses/health problems though.

Date: 2011-06-01 10:57 pm (UTC)I can understand Korea Air's stance, but I also feel like they could have flown her over sooner.
In the end, at least she is at peace.
