someone trash talks the late Song Ji-seon, KBS fires everyone involved

Cable TV channel KBS Joy announced Tuesday that it has decided to shut down one feature of the celebrity gossip news, "Celebrity Magazine Entertainers", and to sack its host Sung Dae-hyun over the suicide of newscaster Song Jee-seon Monday.

Emcee Sung and Cho Sung-hee made inappropriate and derogatory comments on the scandal involving Song and professional baseball player Lim Tae-hoon on last Friday's episode.

"We have decided to shut down MC Sung's feature following an emergency meeting on Monday along with the step-down of Sung. The entire staff will be replaced as well", announced KBS Joy on its official website. "We hope that this unfortunate event will not occur again in the future".

The program that instigated the controversy featured a topic on celebrities' obsessions with love last Friday, to which MC Sung made insulting remarks on the announcer and Lim, such as "one of the two must be psychotic". This feature was criticized especially in the wake of newscaster Song's death.

Right? wtf. this doesn't make sense. like ok chastise the person who said or wrote the stuff and make it a policy to not be derogatory when reporting but this seems really extreme. the coffee guy didn't do anything wrong and they have probably let stuff like this slide before

MTE. If they're going to do this, they might as well scrap every single celebrity gossip show that they hold. Hell, the show is called Celebrity Magazine Entertainers, what else would you expect. But this is the reality of the industry and it's sad that a suicide had to happen for KBS to take action like this. Even then, I bet you that they're not going to be consistent, and TBH I just feel bad for those that weren't involved in the scriptwriting/comment making that got fired.
