Korean pop culture is sweeping through Asia like a viral media takeover, and its next stop may very well be the U.S.A. Meet the Wonder Girls: Ye-Eun, Yu-Bin, Sun-Ye, So-Hee, and Hye-Rim. Singing their way from an intimidating audition for music mogul J.Y. Park to the colossial stage of Beijing’s Bird Nest Stadium--and opening slots for Justin Bieber and the Jonas Brothers--the Girls were the first Korean act to chart a single on the Billboard Hot 100. For its first stateside release, the group reached out to top American record producers for a “retro-modern feel.”
