Entertainer and well-known animal rights advocate Lee Hyori recently posted a semi-controversial tweet that has netizens buzzing.
Apparently, Hyori is intensely against a fur show that’s coming up in Seoul as she expressed disapproval of the current legal standing of furs in the city.
She tweeted yesterday, “[To the person who leads Seoul], they say that on May 16th in West Hollywood, CA, it became illegal to sell fur coats. Are you really going to stand by and let the fur show open in Seoul?”
Fans seeing the tweet responded, “Of course, it’s Lee Hyori,” and “We have to stop the sacrifice of poor animals for people’s use.”

As for the whole vegan/fur thing, I'd love to give up meat but I just love it too much.
I also really love fur but I hate the way in which animals suffer for it. Why not take the fur from an animal that has died from natural causes? Or buy fake fur.

Date: 2011-05-21 12:23 pm (UTC)No matter the debates of what Hyori has or hasn't done in the past, I for one am grateful for all the attention she has brought to homeless/neglected pets and this specific fur issue amongst many.
Honestly, we need all the help we can get, including those in hate mode that might want to expend some charitable or productive actions themselves instead of complaining about someone who's at least making an attempt.
