nomnomnom just released a single not long ago, so i'm pretty sure that they're still active, but hiphop artists make and break groups all the time. i wouldn't be surprised if jinseok left, either permanently or temporarily, to join another group. still, it would make me weep if TS stuffed him into the group with yongguk D: i mean, boyband...

In the articles I was reading, they were mentioning how Jinseok had talent at MCing and acting as well, so it's looking like they may be going in that direction with him? Hmm...

I don't know if you read Korean, but a bunch of articles have cropped up about it: here (http://mystar.mdtoday.co.kr/my/index.html?no=507619) and here (http://www.dipts.com/news/index.html?mode=view&cate1_id=15&cate2_id=126&number=30412) for example.
I dunno, I guess I just have faith that TS wouldn't try to force the standard boyband stuff on guys with legit talent and experience that don't really fit the boyband mold.

I hope so, too. It's heartening, though, that TS's selections for new members of their family have been so...legit. Do you know what I mean? Like BYG had experience in the underground rap scene, right? And OJS has experience with Nom Nom Nom and NBBZ. Like these guys aren't just pretty boys who want to be famous. And TS's trackrecord is with Untouchable and Secret. Granted, Secret went down the cutesy route for their last single, but the girls of Secret are really talented themselves and their music hasn't been exactly standard Kpop fodder, either.
Man, have I become a TS Entertainment stan or what? Hahaha

Date: 2011-05-04 06:38 pm (UTC)Yh I thought about Secret's shy boy and that's why my first reaction was "Zinsuk's gonna be dancing around singing cutesy songs D:" haha but I think I remember seeing pre-debut Zinger rap and Secret's older stuff isn't like shy boy, plus they have Untouchable which can make ppl change thier minds about what to expect from them.

Date: 2011-05-04 07:49 pm (UTC)I'm a Secret stan, so I'm biased, but the girls are actually incredibly talented and devoted to music. Jieun was in an indie band before being in Secret, for example. And Zinger is very influenced by hip hop. These girls have worked for years to become singers because they love music and it shows in how much dedication they put into their performances. And of course we can't forget Untouchable!
I think the company certainly was quite poor! They're a tiny fledgling company going against giants. But thankfully, they've been getting more successful and Secret no longer live in the basement, haha.
Anyway. I think the people behind TS have good heads on their shoulders and hopefully that will continue! It would really be a shame to have OJS and BYG be in a cookie-cutter throwaway boy group.
