Rapper Outsider is #1 on Cyworld with ‘Alone’

Rapper Outsider, whose new 2nd album was leaked out before its official release, has his title song ‘Alone’ from this new album #1 on Cyworld.

His song ‘Alone’ has cleared away competition from duet song ‘Beauty’ by Yoon Gun and Lee Hyori, and also ‘Fire’ by 2NE1.

The song ‘Alone’ features a 14-member string orchestra, and has a melody line and feel to hip hop singer MC Sniper.

His company SniperSound said, “We sold a record 5000 copies of his 2nd album, and we are looking at a higher album sales to comer. Even though we have suffered some loss through the album leak, we are very happy and thankful for fans’ overwhelming response.”

Outsider will have his comeback stage on 4th June on Mnet M!Countdown.

Is Outsider well known in Korea?

I'm not sure if "well-known" is the best word, but he is definitely better known there than with overseas fans. Heechul and Park Jungmin have both tried imitated him at different times, he's appeared on variety shows and in a SHOW commercial when he was promoting his older album, Soliloquist. He's nowhere near as well-known as the idol groups because, well, he's not an idol and he died off the face of the earth for a little over a year. But out of all the artists considered part of the underground hip-hop scene in Korea, he's one of the better known.

I get all my news from Naver, Cyworld, his Korean wiki page and googling his name in Korean as "아웃사이더". It's a bit tedious at times to update on him, especially when I have to get it all in Korean, but at least I get info.
