CSJH's Stephanie ballet rehearsal footage gains interest

Following Stephanie’s appearance and interview with QTV last week, netizens have been gaining an interest in this singer’s life as a ballet dancer. Indeed, a month-old practice video of hers has become a subject of much buzz, as it exhibits her flawless grace and execution.

The CSJH member is seen rehearsing several ballet numbers for what seems to be for a showcase. Though her elegant moves are garnering much praise, her toned body is also earning a lot of chatter as well.

Seems like all her hard work and dedication is paying off!

all i hear is the sound of her boxes hitting the floor. this just brings to mind the hours we had to spend at my dance school doing soundless changements as our instructor walked the rows and yelled at us that we were "ballerinas, not elephants" and that she shouldn't be able to hear us landing.

You can't avoid the sound when your shoes are rather new. Even at the Bolshoi you hear the soloists shoes hit the floor from time to time. Hammering on the box and watering it may muffle the sound a little, but it's still pretty audible.

God, seeing these videos reminds me of the times where idols were like "i do aegyo in my free time, and i've also been practicing ballet for 6 months", and i couldn't help but chuckle cause i keep comparing them to her, the original dancing queen of kpop; of course let's not forget her power-vocals either.

I pretty much can't dance to save my life or anyone else's but in the group video, was Stephanie on time? Because there were certain bits when the dancers weren't synchronized and I was just curious.

Short answer. Yes.
Long answer:
Valid question from a non-dancer, but the answer is a gray area. A number of factors are relevant. Firstly, it's a rehearsal, so the dancers are still memorizing/learning the choreography. They could also be working in a different space than where they first learned it and are dealing with that change.
More significantly, the music doesn't have a very distinctive beat or melody, so the dancers have to hear the piece many times before they learn the cues from the music and each other. And they likely learned the choreography primarily to no music and only by the counts from the choreographer.
Lastly, it's contemporary ballet and the nature of the piece has pretty free movement. Sometimes a choreographer wants everyone perfectly on time, sometimes a choreographer wants everyone to feel out their own movement within the group. It just depends.
