Fan's of late actress Lee Eun-joo arranged a memorial in commemoration of her death 6 years ago.

They are going to gather in the Kyeonggido Goyang-si Cheong-ah Park where she is resting, on the 22nd at 2PM.

Later there will be a dinner meeting with the fans and the members of her past company, Namoo Actors.

Lee Eun-joo's mother is also expected to be attending.

One of the members of a fan club that is helping to arrange this event said, "We hold a memorial for Lee Eun-joo every year but this year her mother is to be with us so we think this year is especially special for the fans".

Lee Eun-joo made her debut in the 1999 SBS drama "KAIST" and has been loved by fans for movies, "Bungee Jumping of their Own", "Lover's Concerto", "Taegukgi" and more.

She caused fans sadness by committing suicide in her own home, provoked by depression in February 2005.

She was only 24 when she committed suicide by hanging and slitting her wrists, people think that her depression was caused by her role in "The Scarlet Letter" in which she played a mistress to a police officer and I'm assuming she was heavily slutshamed for that role. To be quite honest, you see more nudity from the leading man than from her.
But anyway, I hope she continues to rest in peace and people will learn from her death.

She was an amazing actress ;_; I can't believe it's been 6 years already ;_;
I first saw her in the kdrama Phoenix with Eric and Seojin.
Now when I watch Phoenix again I can't believe that she's gone and that it was her last kdrama.
She was so young ;_;

I watched her drama with Lee Seo Jin and she was so beautiful but
always looked really sad...
so I felt it wasn't just the role of the scarlet letter that made her depressed. I heard other stories that made me question the safety of actresses...

But R.I.P. to her...
And for her mother...it must hurt so bad considering she was only 24
and she would have only been 30 if she were still here now.
It's sad what the entertainment industry can do to ones mental state.

She was beautiful in taegukgi I was so shocked when she killed herself, but apparently she had been suffering from depression fr a long time. I didn't know about the slutshaming though!

Oh dear that's really sad. I've always thought actresses were given greater liberty in expressing their artistry, but I guess not. And i suppose the pressure simply got too much for her to handle.

I think it wasn't just the slutshaming, but it was a combination of that, plus the depression she was suffering from, plus insomnia as well. I think it just drove her over the edge a bit :(
Mind you though, that trunk scene in the Scarlet Letter was rather um.. distressing to watch. She definitely doesn't deserve slutshaming for the scene, but I can imagine that filming the scene may have been very unnerving for her ;_;

Wow, that's right it's been 6 years since her passing. I remember that sad day when they release the news about her, I was 18 years old. She was such a amazing and beautiful actress, I loved her a lot in Attic Cat & He was Cool the most. I think I had watched most of her stuffs back then expect when she first debuted. The last I watched before she died was Phoenix and Taegukgi.

I think that's another actress, Jung Da Bin. And I miss her too. I was looking for her last drama subbed (That Summer Typhoon) but can't find it :(

I saw The Scarlett Letter and it was pretty shocking to me, not because the naked scenes, but the one in the car is... I don't even know, it realy made cry.

I would like to go to this memorial, she was such a good actress and I'm also very happy there's people who appreciate her work and still support her.

Rest In Peace, Eunjoo.
