Mir gets surgery brb crying

Earlier, allkpop reported that MBLAQ’s Mir had sustained an injury to his lower back while recording for a show. It’s just been revealed that the injury was severe enough to require surgery.

A representative of his company, J. Tune Camp, stated: “On the 7th, Mir visited the hospital after recording for SBS’s “Star King” after feeling constant pains in his lower back. He was told by the doctors that he had spinal disc herniation.”

They continued, “On the 9th, he received surgery at a hospital in Kangnam and is now recovering.”

Relieving anxious fans, the representative assured, “The surgery went well but we have to wait on his condition. …Requiring immediate rest, this also complicates MBLAQ’s current promotions.”

When asked about Mir’s return, they said, “Right now, we’re not sure how long he has to rest for. His discharge from the hospital depends on his examinations and treatment process, but we wish for him to recover quickly.”

Considering the status of Mir’s health, it’s inevitable that the boys of MBLAQ will continue to promote without him. We’re hoping that Mir makes a safe and full recovery, so we can see him on stage once more!

my mom had surgery for a minor spinal injury and was in hospital for three weeks.

then bed rest and taking it REALLY easy at home for a few months

Although (please don't kill me) I'm surprised that they decided for him to have surgery so early on. Even with severe cases of spinal disc herniation, people often opt for non surgical approaches to treatment initially. Of course this takes a fair while longer, letting it naturally heal :|
I hope J.Tune has made the right decision and not just chose surgery over other treatment options to speed up the recovery process :|

I thought the same thing. If he just had the injury, moving to surgery so quickly seems unwise. Back surgery is not always successful and in some cases the situation can be made worse by surgery. Invasive procedures should usually be the last choice, not the first. I hope J.Tune didn't go this route just to try to get Mir back on stage faster.

Jtune does not fuck around with injuries.
Joon, Seungho all have had problems, no they didn't go under the knife but were given time to heal. This being compared to the rest of the industry and their mandatory IV drip for everything.
Not to mention didn't one of the infinite boys hurt their back and had to perform and then be rushed to the hospital. *shrugs nothing more was said about that.

I'm not crying.
I'm glad he and his family were a go for surgery rather than just giving him rest. Long term harm is really the factor when dealing with the back. Deal with it later or work on it now.
He's healthy and young he should heal well.

I agree. I've had the same surgery and I was working a low impact job two months after. He just needs to rest and do what the doc says.

Also just sayin' but Orlando Bloom like broke his back and went on to do lots of his own stunts in Pirates. It's not completely unfixable. But like me he might have off days.
