MBC cuts the Perfect Prismatic Princesses short

MBC’s ”Idol Star Athletics & Swimming Championships” is being heavily criticized for airing only 40 seconds of Rainbow’s synchronized swimming performance.

On February 5th, Rainbow revealed their fantastic aquatic performance of “A” before the men’s 50m competition. Reportedly, the girls trained for 4 months with a professional, and so their segment became one of the program’s most highly anticipated events.

Unfortunately, only 40 seconds of their performance was aired on the show, and viewers couldn’t hold back their disappointed responses.

Viewers commented, “They practiced for 4 months? They just shouldn’t have done it”, “Almost everything was edited, the members would be very disappointed”, “I even thought this was disappointing before it was revealed that they practiced for 4 months. They would be shocked“.

Poor Rainbow. I hope the members get to show off their synchronized swimming completely at another time.

that's why I was at least a little bit happy to see Seulong had changed into a tight tank instead of those horrile loose shirts. Everyone would have been so much faster without them. if they had made the girls wear them to, I would have flipped a table.

Exactly! I was yelling at my tv so much, with everyone wearing baggy shirts to swim for TIME, and wearing HATS while SPRINTING. I was gonna throw something if they made the girls wear shits too, so thankfully my appartment is still intact.

It's unfortunate because you can tell how much practice they've done. We had to do synchronize swimming in p.e at my school - that was a bitch to do.

The whole turned out to be fail tbh. I like last year's better.

first off, you school was amazing if you got to do syncro in P.E.
second of all, they might have practiced how to get into formations, but that was about all that looked practiced. they really didn't do anything other than that and that poor lift, that actually could have been really dangerous the way they did it.

I agree, last years was better because there were more sports! if they wanna keep the swimming, then just cut the irrelevant prelims and go for the metal rounds so they can have more variety.

XD Yeah, started syncro when I was 4 and went until I was about 12-ish, and they put our team on pre-olympic training at 10. I quite after that little while though... the training was way too intense, I never saw my family... it just stopped being fun. I got so angry at the Bejing olympics because that would've been the one I might have been able to go to. >.<

I dunno how big aquatic sports are here in Korea, so it'll probably mbe something I'll have to just find news updates on.

thank god they cut that shit short. as an ex-olympic trained syncro swimmer, this was an embarrassment. idgaf about the people who'll be all ~*~BUT THEY'RE NOT REAL SWIMMERS~*~ because 4 months is enough time to learn some basics, which they did not. flapping your arms around and trying to put a leg up does not a syncro swimmer make.
