- Jiyoung episode delayed, TL;DW will air instead
On the 28th, TokyoTV has announced that the February 4 episode of URAKARA, the drama topbilled by 5 member, girl-group KARA, who is currently in a crisis, will be a digest of the first three episodes. For the episode on February 11, they had announced their desire to complete it as planned before.
This month, KARA members Seungyeon, Nicole and Jiyoung have expressed their intention to terminate their contract with DSP media, and a break-up crisis has begun. The 4th episode of the drama has yet to finish filming and there are many difficulties arising in the resolution that the filming in Japan was stopped.
On the 27th, the agency has prepared the filming equipment so that shooting for the 4th episode can resume anytime as they only have those that have been filmed and the station considered showing a digest of the first three episodes. The station further said that they want to "show all 12 episodes. We want to continue" Also, they have decided to show an preview of the 4th episode where the girls transfer to Japan's stage.

According to the producers, Gyuri recorded the contents of the episode before KARA’s dispute with the agency was publicized, so controversial material will likely not be found.
During the recording of “100 Points out of 100″, Gyuri truthfully revealed secrets she wanted to keep hidden.
In this episode, the theme was “raising endurance”, and guests had to share moments in their lives where they had to show endurance. Gyuri revealed an experience where she endured through terrible pain in her foot because she had to wear height insoles.
She stated, “I wore height insoles because I thought, as an unnie (older sister), I had to look more mature and taller than maknae (youngest) Jiyoung. Even though my feet felt like they were about to explode because of the high height insoles, I still had to endure and perform on stage.”

On January 29th, KARA’s Gyuri guested on KBS 2TV’s “100 Points out of 100” and amused viewers with her exaggerated transformation.
Haha and Gyuri were invited as ‘new entrance’ students and took part in games that tested one’s patience. Some of the challenges included math, holding in your laughter, and stacking cans. Haha and Gyuri were pitted against each other and had to draw teams; the losing team was forced to make an ugly transformation as the consequence.
Unfortunately, Gyuri’s team (Kim Juri, Lee Seok Hoon, miss A’s Min, and Rainbow’s Jaekyung) lost their challenge, and they were taken away to hair and make-up.
When they came back out, viewers were bowled over by everyone’s 360° transformations, but it was Gyuri’s in particular who brought in the laughs.
‘Goddess Gyuri’ re-emerged from the make-up room with a unibrow and an old-school beard. The look was complete with an inverted widow’s peak and messy hair, which led many to comment that she looked like ‘the monkey king’.
The winning castmates teased them by shouting, “You’re all so ugly!” Gyuri’s team replied that they hadn’t seen their transformations yet, and expressed immediate surprise after checking their reflections in the cameras.

A Japanese media outlet has made headlines for stirring up some drama, accusing Nicole’s mother of going to JYJ’s Jaejoong for advice regarding KARA and their recent controversy.
This media outlet stated that the two were spotted frequently dining together at Nicole’s mother’s restaurant, “Red Kitchen”, while conversing with serious expressions.
One piece of evidence that the tabloid is claiming is that many famous celebrities, including SNSD and others, have left autographs in the restaurant. Out of these, Jaejoong’s says, “The food is so delicious. Thank you”, with a picture taken of him and Nicole’s mother.
Furthermore, they claim that, “Jaejoong and Nicole’s mother have a very close relationship, which is why he goes to the restaurant so often. Nicole is not only close with Jaejoong, but also with the other members of JYJ as well. They were all spotted dining together in Japan.”
However, Korean netizens who have heard this rumor are saying, “This is an outrageous claim”, “I’m suspicious that this may be a way to show negative feelings against Hallyu”, and “Reports without any evidence need to be stopped”.

- Won Bin interrogated by KARA-obsessed Japanese reporters
Actor Won Bin ran into an uncomfortable situation with the press in Japan regarding KARA’s recent controversy.
While attending the 22nd International Jewelry Awards in Tokyo on January 26th, Won Bin was given a special award. However, during his interview, one of the reporters asked him if he was aware of the KARA controversy, catching the actor seriously off-guard with the off-topic question.
Won Bin was unable to hide his perplexed and surprised expressions, and this clip has started to make the rounds on Youtube.
After viewing this clip, fans are criticizing the thoughtless behavior of the Japanese reporters. Understandably though, since both Won Bin and KARA are Korean celebrities, it may seem like an acceptable question. However, because the two are totally unrelated, and have no ties whatsoever, the majority of people seem to be displeased with the line of questioning.
The award that was given to Won Bin this year was given to actor Lee Byung Hun last year, and it was presented by the ex-prime minister Hatoyama Yukio’s wife, Miyuki. Because of his similar looks to Japanese star Kimura Takuya, Won Bin has been coined the “Korean Kimura Takuya”.

- Jiyoung's father remains a beacon of hope
The father of KARA’s Kang Jiyoung revealed that he would like for the contract dispute with DSP Media to be resolved positively.
On January 29th, Kang Gun Wook posted on his Twitter, “I haven’t been able to sleep for several days because of anxiety and sadness.” Wishing for a positive resolution, he wrote, “I want to resolve this before the week passes. I will try to put my guard down and approach the situation in the hopes of solving it with a forgiving heart.”
The day before, Kang Gun Wook tweeted, “We reached the halfway point of success. KARA will continue activities and events as 5 members” and “In a few days, the rest of the agreement will come to a conclusion. It will be a direction that everyone will be mutually satisfied with”. Many are taking the tweets as a good sign that both sides are conducting business smoothly.
It was reported on the 27th that through consultation, the 3 members of KARA (Han Seungyeon, Jung Nicole, Kang Jiyoung) agreed with DSP Media that ‘KARA will continue together as 5′ and that the Japanese drama, ‘URAKARA‘, and CF schedules will resume. As for the remaining issues with the agency, they plan to meet again soon to confer.

- Nikori is not leaving Heroes
On the 30th, PD Park Sung Hoon assured fans through an interiew with Money Today that, “As everyone knows, Nicole was involved in many issues and was unable to film with us on the 31st. This, however, does not mean that Nicole will leave the program.”
Fans were relieved to hear that Nicole will eventually return to the program, pending the resolution of the dispute with DSP Media.
After the second round of negotiations, KARA decided to continue together as a five-membered group. They’re hoping to continue with their schedules as planned.
