“Personally, I think among idols these days, Daesung is the most handsome. The others all just look same. One looks like another.

[NEWS] “Night After Night” writer apologizes to fans of Daesung (24/01/2011)

The writer of SBS’s variety program, “Night After Night,” made a formal apology to fans of Big Bang’s Daesung, but many have been wondering why.

Fans began revolting against the show ever since the writer inserted a concept that made fun of Daesung’s physical appearance. Other rumors of a guest hitting Daesung on the head only increased the anger and aggravation of his fans.

But it all reached a boiling point after netizens discovered the following tweet from the writer:

“There are a lot of crazy children in this world. I’m hearing a lot of crazy things as I live on. It was meant for a laugh, why are you attacking as if your life depended on it? Where can you use that head of yours for?”

Big Bang fans immediately replied to her Twitter, asking for an apology. The writer relented on January 23rd and wrote:

“I apologize for causing a disturbance with my post! That day, filming was completed in a good atmosphere. I’m close with Daesung and the producers, and really like them! I saw a tweet regarding my program and wrote my personal thoughts because I was so upset. I was too careless. I am so sorry to the Daesung fans, I bow my head in apology. Once again, I apologize for causing a disturbance”.

Despite her apology, fans have been flocking to the “Night After Night” community board, they are asking that Daesung just leave the show.

[NEWS] Daesung’s representatives clarify rumors about “Night After Night” (24/01/2011)

Representatives of Big Bang's Daesung clarified the recent controversy surrounding a writer and rumors regarding Daesung's participation in SBS's variety program, "Night After Night." In a phone call with Star News on January 24th, representatives stated:

"The producers of Night After Night are very close with Daesung. The atmosphere of the film set is always bright as well.

Fans are claiming that a certain participant hit Daesung on the head, but there was nothing to feel bad about at the time of the recording. The filming took place in a warm environment. We believe the fans are misunderstanding the whole situation".

idk how to feel about all this tbh. It's great that the fans want to protect him, but I don't know if this whole situation is actually serious enough to warrant a boycott of the show. Realistically speaking, it might make it difficult for Dae to get a variety gig next time, because the PDs will be reluctant to hire an idol with such difficult fans.

everyone and their mother has difficult fans in korea. remember when that one pd called i think i was shinee or 2pm useless and fans fucking raged. if fans think that you're going overboard being physically and verbally mean past a joke or two, they'll chew your ass out.

Daesung is being under appreciated lately.
And N&N doesn't do much for him either. Not saying he should leave, it's just he doesn't have much of a good connection with 4-5 of the the stars there.
Maybe he should have a spot on Running Man!? He needs a variety show where he can let loose and an atmosphere where it's fun and less serious.

But apparently according to a fanaccount posted in allkpop's bb-thread the issue was really played down in this article. There was a lot more insults and abuse thrown than just a simple knock on the head and a "lol u ugly."

It's getting old. Not just from variety shows but also the members (I'm looking at you GD). How would anyone feel being constantly called ugly even by your close friends?

But bombarding the board and asking for him to leave the show might only be making things even more difficult for Dae. He chose to do this show for his own reasons and we have to respect that. Who are we to ask that he leave?
