The three members of KARA have finally revealed their demands in their contract adjustments with DSP Media, with the two main points being to shorten the contract time and having a modification in the board of directors.

With the three members having a contract that still lasts another 3-4 years, the trio has demanded their contracts be shortened to July of 2012 instead, as they would like to end their contract at the same time their contract with Universal Japan ends. They have also requested a more professional management team, as well as a transparent accounting system.

In addition, the three have requested for the resignation of the wife of CEO Lee Ho Yeon, who had been his replacement since last year after he fell into a coma. The trio would also like for a new system, whereby their legal representative could participate in the group’s accounting and contract audits.

It was later announced that DSP Media would agree to only partially meet their demands. A representative stated, “Isn’t demanding a shortening of their contract and a change in directors a bit too much? For reinforcing the management team and making a transparent accounting and contract system, if the members are willing to come back and discuss further, then there are possibilities that they can be partially accepted.

Daum+AKP

you girls really almost had me, thinking you were going to goo in there and ask for something simple like more money or something. Nope, could have fooled me. Hopefully they can find a reasonable middle ground.

What's wrong with the wife of the CEO being the CEO's stand-in person?

Asking for the CEO of the whole company to step down is way too much. The rest I think DSP can do but that request is too big.
Here I was hoping for a quick and peaceful ending

ajungma wars indeed.

if the three's contract is shortened how about the two?

Most of these could be met in full. If they shorten their contracts, and DSP treats them right, they're more likely to resign. So is having their reps there during audits, they probably aren't well versed in contracts and such so having their reps there would be a benefit.

well then.....

what i would have asked for was a less suicidal daily schedule...

like at least having 6 hours of sleep daily and not being forced to do 6hr + variety show recordings back to back...idk...if i was in that position i would want a more breathable lifestyle...

but some of those demands are kinda insane...like wanting the CEO's wife to step down...also shortening their contract from 3 years left to one seems unrealistic too...maybe thats just me...but the money thing and the management team is fair tho

Even if they go back, there's going to be so much animosity between them and the company that it's almost pointless. These three seem kind of fucked now either way.

Not gonna happen.

What did the CEO wife do that make them soo mad at her???

I understand all the other demand because it was technical and inline with law, but idk about the last one.

Woah, okay.

I hope their negotiations go well, although they'll probably drag out as legal stuff tends to go... Middle ground people, middle ground.

Wait, shortening contracts....does this mean that after July of 2012, what would happen? IS THIS JUST PROLONGING THEM POTENTIALLY LEAVING??

Well perhaps they don't need to replace the CEO's Wife, but just hire better managers around her so that a better managerial team is present. Brain Trust whatnot.

I hope they win the transparent accounting part, idk how bad it is in Asia but shady accounting practices will bite you in the butt.

All the demands are reasonable and easy to fulfil EXCEPT the resignation of the wife of the CEO. I don't see that happening at all. But you know, good luck to them.

Asking for the resignation is a bit too much,
Having accountants from the member's side verifying accounts should be doable, it is invasive for the company but it should be a staple in the industry.

ohhhh...this is interesting. DSP might hopefully set a trend for companies working WITH their stars instead of working above them (ie. treating them as owned property).

the wife aint ever gonna leave, but it doesn't sound as though she knew what she was doing in the first place. just resign ffs. if she really cared about the sake of her husband's company she should've gotten someone more competent to take the job.

shortening their contracts and replacing the ceo should be easy enough!

july 2012 gyuri and hara would still have 1-2 years on their contracts, what then? i'm starting to question if Seungyeon, Nicole or Jiyoung even want to be in entertainment anymore.

lol at these demands. they better finish filming urakara or else burn another bridge they had, if they even care.

From: [identity profile] noonew.livejournal.com
urakara might as well be cancelled altogether. The rating for 2nd episode dropped to 1.7% anyway.

At this point wouldn't the shareholders want Mrs. CEO to step down?
I mean in 2 years she's lost almost all their profitable groups.
The company is going out of business if Rainbow has to pay the bills.
(Sorry prismatic princesses but you're not gonna keep the lights on.)

So, if DSP gave into all of their demands, Kara will only be 5 for about a year and a half then since SNJ wants to leave in 2012 while Gyuri and Hara will still have 2~3 years left in their contract? What point will DSP have to agree with them now if they are gonna ditch Kara next year? I think its time for them to focus on Rainbow now...they have the potential to become just as popular as Kara...

I find it hard to believe that the current CEO is incompetent or whatever. KARA have been bigger than ever since she started running DSP right? Seems like she's doing a good job.

I doubt very seriously that their CEO will resign and that their contracts will be shortened.
