Members of the YG family have long been regarded as fashion-forward, but a recent article on Engadget, a popular consumer electronics tech blog, reveals that Big Bang and 2NE1 have some pretty tech-savvy music videos as well.
Apparently, Seungri’s What Can I Do music video reveals a brief glimpse of the LG G-Slate, an LG tablet that was only recently revealed at CES Expo and is set to be released through T-Mobile in the future.
“The G-Slate has been one of the more mysterious devices launched at CES this year, but it now appears to have shaken off some of its shyness and made a cameo appearance on K-Pop star Seungri’s latest music vid,” the article reports. Taking note of Big Bang & 2NE1’s 2009 releases Lollipop, which featured LG’s candy phone, and YGE’s established relationship with LG Electronics, the post continued, “It’s not unreasonable to believe this young chap has an inside line on LG’s upcoming hardware.”
While some readers were bemused at their first taste of kpop, others expressed their pleasant surprise at seeing the unlikely topic emerging on a consumer electronics blog. “Two of my favorite things: Big Bang and gadgets!” one exclaimed.

(reply: "Maybe someone who probably wasn't American, which is hard given the fact America is almost the only country on the planet.")
"Arrrghhhh! Thanks Engadget, you have just made me rape my ears..."
and then the reason why i'm ashamed to love kpop, the self-entitled 14yearold idiot goes:
"you show seungri's video because of the g-slate, but you don't show GD & TOP's video, "knock out" when they featured the LG optimus 2X when it came out 3 weeks ago???"
lolz.

Date: 2011-01-25 01:43 am (UTC)Besides, I've never seen someone refer to literary works and artists they don't like as "novels" or "authors", which is the of attitude from the source comments that annoy me.
I wonder if I'm at all making sense...

Date: 2011-01-25 02:07 am (UTC)Many times, when I come across conversations on music genres(rap is a common victim), people will use quotation marks when talking about the "Artists" and their "music", as if in a sneering or ironic manner.
It bothers me because of the assumption that their dislike of a work negates any artistic value it might have? Like people who'll only listen to obscure indie bands and scoff at anything else.

Date: 2011-01-25 02:12 am (UTC)no i get that, i just meant that in a sense, sometimes what they're saying about the absolute quality (like, in terms of technical achievement or musical influence or whatever) isn't wrong. but it also doesn't mean that it's not fun and equally awesome to listen to.
i wouldn't go up to a musical historian and say that seungri is changing the face of pop music. he'd probably laugh at me and point me towards some textbooks. but i also wouldn't say that he's not awesome for taking his album in hand and working at it and releasing something amazing and fun and very. very him.
that make more sense?
