Hello.
This is Liveworks Company head CEO Lee Jangeon.
Today I will be letting you know about the long awaited Shin Hyesung 4th album.
First, I would like to apologize that the release schedule of the 4th album has been pushed back from the promised date.
We wished to greet you with a new album within January, but because of many producing conditions, the release will have to be pushed back a little.
The main reason why the 4th album's release schedule has been pushed back is because we needed more time to decide carefully on the title song and songs to be included in the album.
This album is, as everyone probably feels, a very important album in deciding Hyesung's future as a singer.
As such, we are spending a lot more time in trying to decide which songs to include compared to the other albums.
As everyone knows, in the current popular music industry, which is centered around one-song singles, the concept of the 'regular album' has completely collapsed.
The most recent regular albums released that I remember were the Bigbang unit GD&TOP's 1st album and Jung Wonyoung's 5th.
One of the biggest things we tried to decide on was the form of the new album.
Even the distribution industries, which distribute albums, question the release of regular albums.
It has become a set pattern in the current music industry to not release regular albums, but to cut it up and release many digital singles or EP albums across the year to be active all year around.
It is natural to say that Hyesung is a singer.
And the road he will take in the future is of course as a singer.
I believe that seen from a long-term perspective, the way a singer can hold a long life as a singer is through performances.
Performances are the best way to show the musical ability of a singer, and through performances the singer can develop his or her musical side and prepare for the next album.
Hyesung's new album will be a regular album.
The main reason why we are holding fast to releasing regular albums in a music industry where regular albums have almost gone extinct is because of performances.
A singer's performances become richer through the songs included in regular albums.
After the release of the 4th album Hyesung is thinking of being active in performances more than any other year.
Not only will we be holding a performance with a small theater atmosphere, for which we confirmed the possibility last December, we are planning to show off many different forms of performances all year this year.
Other than the 4th album, we are planning an album with an attempt on a new musical form near the end of the year.
We are not planning to follow the current popular music industry's promotion flow centered on trendy singles which are difficult to last even a week.
We also do not plan to continue Hyesung's activities as a singer by becoming popular through issues other than the music Hyesung wants to do.
Hyesung is the only singer out of those who started off as a member of an idol group who only competes through music.
And there are many people who wait for his albums and performances who let us not resort to promoting singles, which do not properly show a singer's musical directions.
He is also a singer who can be stably active abroad only through music.
I do not believe that a singer with these strengths goes well with single promotions.
We are planning to release the 4th album within February.
The 4th album will also be released in licensed form in Japan, China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong after its release in Korea in February.
Not only are we doing our best on the music to be included in the album, but also on the packaging more than any other time.
As you have shown your support by waiting so long, we will make sure we repay you with an album with good songs and new performances.
I have said before in a notice that Hyesung will choose to go long, leading the trend, rather than being led by it.
Although he will be not able to be largely popular immediately, he will work hard to become a singer who delivers to you good music for a long time.
I ask you to please be a part of Hyesung's musical way for the future.
I also ask for much attention, encouragement, and sometimes smart advice.

Omg, I just watched that performance again. I think it's because he's not wearing any eyeliner. That totally threw me off!!

I honestly think that's one of the first times I've seen him WITHOUT eyeliner on, so that's really why it threw me off. Some asians look better without eyeliner (especially Siwon! He wore eyeliner in the SS2 and ugh, whyyyyy??) but some look AMAAAAAAAAAZING with it. :D
