The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) posted its first video footage on January 1, showing general views of Pyongyang and its citizens, on its Japanese-language service.
Its website has so far posted four video reports, including one of a rally in Pyongyang attended by 100,000 people, some of whom held portraits of leader Kim Jong-Il and his late father, Kim Il-Sung, the communist state's founder.
The 64-year-old KCNA provides photos and news in Korean and English. Spanish- and Japanese-language services were launched recently.
North Korea, one of the world's most tightly controlled states, joined Twitter under the name @uriminzok ("our own nationals") in August last year, months after its foray on to the popular video-sharing site, YouTube.
