Live-Action Blood: The Last Vampire's New Clips Posted

The YouTube website's official Japanese channel for Chris Nahon's live-action film adaptation of the Blood: The Last Vampire anime has posted a new 33-second video on Wednesday. The video shows a fight between the sword-wielding, vampire-hunting girl Saya (My Sassy Girl and Daisy's Gianna) and her nemesis Onigen (The Last Samurai's Koyuki).The channel is also streaming five other videos. The French film website AlloCine posted six English making-of videos and a trailer in both English and French.

Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group acquired all North American rights to the new film, and Samuel Goldwyn Films will release the film in American theaters this summer. The film will open in Japan on May 29 (under the title Last Blood), in the United Kingdom on June 12, and then in France on June 17. It will also open in Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, and other countries in June.

Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell films, Mobile Police Patlabor) conceived the original anime's story with screenwriter Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Eden of The East). Chris Chow adapted the story for East Wing Holdings Corp. and SAJ's live-action version.

IKR...i remember when they showed like the first 10 minutes of 'Speed Racer'. I think they were trying to persuade audiences to go and watch it, but it just confirmed to me every reason why i SHOULDN'T.

I was pretty skeptical about this because I didn't care for the original much (thought it was a little boring). But this looks kick ass. ;__; I hope it opens in the US (I live right by a Landmark theater so I imagine it would open in a theater like that).
