Son Anna Releases Debut Single

SM Entertainment's newest talent, Son Anna, otherwise known as Anna, unleashed her debut single!

Anna's first single, Just 5 Minutes, consists of two tracks - Just 5 Minutes and I Live Because I Can't Die. While Just 5 Minutes is more of an upbeat and catchy song, I Live Because I Can't Die is a ballad that showcases Anna's powerful voice.

She has a really pretty voice but I'm confused as to why her debut has been so low-key. Is she under one of SME's subsidiary company's (if they even have any)? ETA: she's not under SME, her new company is Nine Media Group. Thanks to everyone who cleared that up in the comments. :)

A newcomer to the entertainment industry is revealed with ties with SM Artists.

It was revealed today that Son Anna, an artist from SM Entertainment, is set to debut on the 10th of September, with the name “Anna“.

Son Anna was first seen in public through KBS Qualifications of Men, and she was not able to pass the auditions for a choir they were recruiting for. Instead, she is going to be debuting as a solo artist.

Anna’s photos during her trainee days were also revealed. One of the photos shown was herself with SNSD Yuri.

They are known to be really close to each other. Yuri even mentioned Anna’s name in one of SNSD’s album in the “Thanks to” section. Yuri was also appreciated to be the most active in supporting Anna for her debut.

A representative from SM Entertainment stated, “Anna is a newcomer with 10 years of training with vocal skills, dancing skills, and good looks. She has a good foundation with her explosive vocals, and adding her other skills and charisma on top, she is going to dominate the stage.”

In 2000, while Son Anna was still in middle school, she won the prize for SM’s singing contest, and was a trainee at SM until 2004. At the time, she went through tough times and built friendships with SNSD’s Yuri, Sooyoung, DBSK’s Jaejoong, and others.

Anna’s title song, “Just 5 Minutes” and her couple song, “Live, Can’t Die” will both be revealed on September 10th.
