Hwanhee (age 28) has received an enthusiastic cheers after his b-boy performance.
Hwanhee has made a comeback with the song '...While Doing' which is a sad ballad and it is a 180 degree turn from his Fly to the Sky style.
The song '...While Doing is about lovers who feel the sad emotion about break-up and the song is set at a medium tempo. The choreography paired with the sad and excitement goes well together. Hwanhee has done breakdancing with his dancers and got the reviews 'The skills of a former idol singer' and 'Singing, Dancing, What can't he do?'. Hwanhee said, "I like to dance. I have been dancing since middle school and wanted to approach the fans with something new."
Hwanhee released his first solo last year and had to stop promotions early due to a vocal cord problem. Hwanhee said, "I rushed the production of the album because I wanted to comeback sooner. Brian who I have been working with for 10 years has been a big support and strength. There is some burden going solo after the duo but I am glad that I get to do the music that I want."
Hwanhee does not have plans to do Fly to the Sky activities for 3 years. He said, "I have made a promise with Brian to do a special project album when we are in a better position."
After going solo Hwanhee has tried hard to shake off his image of a ballad singer. He said, "I think that lately if you sing ballads you are a uncle but if you dance you are an oppa (older brother). I wanted to be great at performing and singing so I did a lot of arrangement for a light ballad. I want to appear as an oppa (older brother) *Hwanhee laughs*."
Hwanhee worked out a lot to get those chocolate abs that have become popular and he wanted to show a good image. Hwanhee is an exercise-holic but he did not want to fall behind the idol juniors so he worked out for 3 hours per day.
Hwanhee said, "There is a synopsis that I read and the casting is being reviewed. I think that if I want to act I have to take care of my appearance. I have been sweating lately at the gym in Yoksam-dong under the training of Bae Yong Joon's trainer."
The person that Hwanhee picks as an acting advisor is actor Lee Bumsoo. They have met when they were guests for the show 'Star Survival History' in 2002 and they frequently meet to discuss work.
Since Hwanhee is taking the challenge of acting an image transformation is needed. This is why Hwanhee is refraining from appearing in variety shows. Hwanhee said, "I don't appear on variety shows that don't match my personality. Even though I appeared in MBC's 'We Got Married' with Hwayobi 2 years ago."
Hwanhee said, "I am currently watching the young folks on 'We Got Married' and I wonder if they should change the title to 'We are Dating'. *laughter*" Hwanhee is trying to show a variety of skills this comeback with singing,dancing,and performance. He said, "When the term 'almighty' attaches to my name I will work hard. Please keep on following/watching."

Well I'm not so sure if that's the stereotype, but I'm just going by what he's saying. I for one love ballads more than dance songs, but I'm glad he's doing something different and he seems to love it.
Sad that we won't see him and brian together for atleast another 3 years. I've only been like a casual ftts, and more of a brian fan than anything, but after watching WGM I starting like hwanhee more. I thought he was hilarious and was matched pefectly with hwayobi.
