Wonderfuls demand apology from Entertainment Tonight for Wonder Girls’ MR report

Wonder Girls‘ fans, the Wonderfuls, have been demanding an apology from KBS Entertainment Tonight regarding their MR report.

On the August 21st episode of Entertainment Tonight, the show talked about the recent popularity of netizens removing the MR from artists’ performance videos and criticizing them on their live vocal abilities.

Note: MR removed videos: When the music and instruments are minimized, resulting in a maximization of the artist vocals.

What the Wonderfuls are angry at is that the show offended Wonder Girls member Sohee, by making the viewers believe that her live vocal ablities during her performances in “2 Different Tears,“ were a “lip sync.”

On Entertainment Tonight’s message board, the Wonderfuls have left lots of comments such as, “We demand an apology on next week’s episode because the contents of the show can be mistaken as ’she [Sohee] did not do enough live singing‘,” “Why are you claiming that she lip synced when she actually sang it live?” and “The Wonder Girls’ reputation has been falling because of this, and they have been criticized. I’m very disappointed.”

did you read? they're upset because they're claiming sohee doesn't sing live when she does. it's not her fault she's a good performer and always sounds just like she does on the recorded version. even if her voice isn't good she's better at performing than most people.

I've noticed this happens to a lot of girl groups. A bunch of them have really great lower female register voices, but the songs they're given call for tons of falsetto. I guess it happens in all the companies.

I don't see the issue here... it was just unfortunate that they used wondergirls as the example (as in bad luck for them).

The one thing I have learned from watching the Wonder Years for years now is that they almost always, without fail sing live.

It's one of the points that stands out for me about them.
Now that in it's self is a dilemma, because I remember very clearly during the "Wonder Girl era" in Kpop. Whenever they would do a music show they would sing live, but the vocals weren't always too par or standard.
So they would get a lot of heat about that from fandom.

I honestly can't remember a time they outrightly lip synced (if they have then excuse me..I stand corrected.)

I'm confused. So the show (Entertainment Tonight) talked about how netizens will alter/remove the MR from live shows, so that people can hear the singers betters.
In other words, they (netizens) turn down the background instrumentals (aka. pre-recorded music) so that the voices can be heard.

Now, in one performance the Wonderfuls are saying Entertainment Tonight is making the Wondergirls look bad. Saying they purposefully made it look like Sohee lip-sang the performance.

Idk, logic says she did. If they show a video some netizens altered, and the netizens only removed the pre-recorded audio, and then Sohee's voice disappeared...Logic says she lip-sang the performance. Not to say she lip-syncs every performance, or that she can't sing, but in that particular live that they aired, that's the case.

Hurt fans, instead of complaining, should maybe go and do the same thing. Find a performance and remove the background music. Prove that Sohee doesn't lip-sync her performances.

All that aside, I thought they meant the American Entertainment Tonight show at first, and had to do a double take.

I only remember her lipsyncing during one of the 2DT performances, but it was clearly stated that she was sick, and even then she did sing during the second verse.

Wonder Girls lip sync maybe 5% of their performances and that's only if they are sick or the show calls for it. Sohee might not have the best voice but the fact that she almost never lip syncs makes me love her even more.
I dont know why this article is trying to make it seem otherwise.
