OH GOD, I HATE HATE HATE WHEN I SEE AN OPERA AND I SEE BITCHES IN JEANS! It's like, this is not the movies, this is something you dress up for. Would it kill you to put on a skirt instead?! I remember seeing a play and there was some lady wearing TRACK PANTS and a horrible, ratty old sweater. I cannot understand how people think this is ok dress to a performance. Same with weddings.

It's funny, a friend of mine got a pretty, not super formal dress to go to a summer wedding, and she's probably out dressing the wedding party, how sad is that?!

How is wearing a white gown a christian traditon? Is that more american tradition? You really can wear any color wedding dress anyways. So really she could have worn clothing traditional to her culture, but still have a christian wedding.

What I undertand for "traditional christian wedding" is that the bride wears a white dress as a symbol of her being pure (virgin but like nowadays like 98% of brides are not virgins) and she gets married at a christian church.

Actually, it's not a North American tradition, if anything it would be a British one. It only became fashionable after Queen Victoria wore a white dress on her wedding day. It used to be the bride would simply wear the best dress she owned. The white dress being a symbol of purity came after the trend was started as a way to help reinforce Christian beliefs.

I believe the term "traditional Christian wedding" is for the ceremony style and what takes place. Usually that would mean taking part in mass as well.
