Kibum had to go for acting lessons okay?

The recent release of Super Junior’s 3rd album lately, member KiBum (22) was not seen promoting the album title song ‘Sorry Sorry’ together with the rest of the group.

Netizens starting discussions on the internet about him ‘leaving the group’ or ‘because of his weight gain, he did not do promotions with the group’ etc. And lately, there has been many comparison of his photos about him gaining much weight going on on the internet.

The reason for his no-show was said to be that he was taking acting lessons. SM Entertainment said, “KiBum did the recording for Super Junior’s 3rd album too. There is not such thing as him leaving the group. He is currently taking acting classes, and hence he could not join the rest for the album promotions.”

“A while back, he filmed for LG OZ CF. Soon, he will be able to present to everyone himself in an upcoming good production.”

KiBum is the member in Super Junior with the greatest volume of acting activities. He took part in KBS drama ‘April’s Kiss’ in 2004, and then went on to SBS drama ‘Marrying a millionaire’, KBS2 ‘Rounding Off 2′, SBS ‘Snowflower’ etc.

I think they're trying to remind people that Kibum still exists.
With a group as large as theirs, you tend to forget (unless you're a hardcore fan).
I agree with you.
I also feel like Kibum's more into his acting career than his singing career. I'd be disappointed to see him go, but if he barely has time to keep up with the rest of SJ, I think he should solely focus on what he wants to do, and make progress with it instead of trying to do two different things at the same time.

I honestly think he'd just like to focus on his acting (in which case he really needed those classes). But the thing is after the last debacle with the fans when SM tried to mess with the ~sanctity of 13~ bullshit how's LSM gonna explain that Kibum's leaving? The worst case scenario here is the fans are keeping the boy trapped into something that doesn't make him happy anymore. If that's really the case then it's a shame.

In recent weeks I've lost a lot of faith in Kibum. I used to like him a lot but as recent as early last year I realized that he was distancing himself from the group. I feel like he doesn't care about the group anymore. He doesn't seem to understand that when you are in a group people depend on you to be there and give your all but when you start putting your personal goals before the group it shows that your priorities are not with your groupmates but with yourself. The other members even if they have other activities, including acting responsibilities, they still make it to every performance and work their asses off. Even Hangeng gave up the chance to be in the Chinese F4 so that he can be with the group for their 3rd album. He gave up advancing his acting career and promoting himself to be with the group. Being in a group means sacrificing a few things for the benefit of the group. But Kibum who barely sings or raps can't take 2 hours out of his day to perform with the group one time. Is that too much to ask? Does he not hear his fans pleading him to perform with the group just for one time? Does his acting lessons really take all day? Because most acting lessons are for a couple of hours.

I like the fact that Heechul, who some would say is a little self-centered, always introduces and writes "Super Junior's Kim Heechul." He doesn't forget the group even if SJ isn't promoting anything he still makes sure to mention the group's name. That not the case with Kibum though. What really rubbed me the wrong way was during his Arirang Intervew. He barely mentioned SJ all he said was to support his acting and not mention anything along the lines of supporting SJ. What the hell is that? Did he forget that he is in a group?

Kibum doesn't deserve to be associated with SJ anymore. The 12 members and also Henry and ZM have been trying to promote the SJ brand and he hasn't contributed all that much. He gets credit for stuff he doesn't even do while the rest of the guys work their asses off. HELL NAW. Just because he comes to the concerts and appears in the MVs for a few seconds doesn't mean he's contributing a whole lot. KB has officially, in my book, lost his SJ card. He should remove himself from the group b/c obviously he doesn't care anymore. Soompiers almost bit my head off when I said what everyone knows is true. All I can say is that they can shove it and be in denial. That SJ thread is full of close-minded hypocrites anyway.

Fans need to stop saying it's SM that is making him do it bc they know it's not true. KB is a grown ass man and he can make his own decisions. Most likely he had a choice between SJ and acting and he picked what he wanted. Him not being there doesn't really hurt SM because they still profit anyway.

I'm tired of trying to understand him because when someone constantly disappoints you time and time again you realize that person is never gonna come through. That's the point when you have to let them go. Sometimes it hard to swallow the fact that they don't wanna be there but it's best for him and the group that they go their separate ways. Kibum never really loved SJ like the others did wholeheartedly. His heart always longed for acting and that is what he must do. He was happy to help but it's not part of him. The fans need to let him got that's the only way for things to be right.

Whoa, I really needed to get that off my chest. Some fans don't want to accept this is what is going on. All they care about is keeping their precious 13 when they they can't accept the fact that one of them doesn't want to be there anymore. To accept it is to accept the fact that their stance is crumbing at it's foundation and what they were working for the last year and half was worthless.

And he is also under a contract. So despite your assumptions he still has to do what he has been told to do. If the management of SM honest to god minded him not being part of the group they would have pulled him back from his activities and put him in suju. But you know he isn't a big addition anyway he is easily replaced and you can easily miss him with performances especially since he had NO lines in Sorry Sorry anyway.

Don't get me wrong I love him to death but Kibum is an actor, not a singer and he has always wanted to act. I don't think it's very fair to shove all the blame on him and say that he doesn't care about his group. I am sure he cares about them a lot but honestly what's the point in keeping someone in your group who isn't happy with being there?

In the end isn't all that matters if you are a fan of Kibum's at least that he is happy and is doing something he wants to do? In the end Super Junior is still strong without him, they aren't suffering because of his absence. I think it would be better if he left anyway. Hell I think it would be better if a lot of them left and did their own thing because I think SJ is holding back a lot of talented people in doing amazing things.

but I agree that the crazed only13 response is probably the only reason Kibum is still in SJ right now. I think he'd have quit to focus on the career he wants, by now, if it hadn't been for the shitstorm that blew up.

I also think it's ridiculous for fans to get all butthurt like OMG HOW ~DARE~ HE NOT PUT SUJU FIRST BEFORE EVERYTHING ELSE IN HIS LIFE... face it, he's not a singer, he's not a dancer, he's not a gagman... where the hell would he get appearances? if members don't make appearances, they don't earn money. this is a job, not some kind of mystical communion for the sake of fangirls' panties. and btw, Geng said he didn't want the Chinese F4 role at least partly because the Taiwanese F4 were such huge icons in China that it would lead to inevitable comparisons and arguments among fans, and he wanted to be known for acting on his own, not for being an F4 remake. which I think was very smart of him.

I'd rather see Kibum doing something that makes him happy, even if it isn't being a part of SuJu, than moldering away as a back-row member forever because some people think 13 is a magical number.
