Charice Pempencgo on Star King ENG Subs

Well I thought this was relevent since she got her big break by appearing on Star King nearly 3 years ago.

For those who don't know. Charice Pempencgo is a singer from the Phillipines who appeared on Star King in November of 07. She wowed the crowed and was asked again to show up on the show again, where she did a duet with Super Junior's Maknae Khuhyun

Anyways, videos of her on Star King ran rampant on Youtube. Ellen Degeneress invited her on her show. She later on went to appear on the Oprah Winfrey Show, who got in contact with David Foster, who then signed her. To make a long story short, she's now an international star, who's debut album in the US debutted at #8 on the Billboard 200 (becoming the 1st Asian to do so) and her 2 Philippines albums have both gone to be platinum. She's sung in concert for Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, as well as other big name stars out there.

This is the episode where F(x) Luna was seen crying after Charice was asked to sing the same song that she had just previously sung.

Charice ended her Star King show by performing her debut US single "Pyramid"

and it's nice to watch this with eng subs, cause I now I understand the entire situation.
Even though it's still a rumor, it does make sense if someone told Luna she should just stay in Korea after she finished singing cause she says that she might get a chance to debut on the bilboard chart if David F. hears her singing.

I don't really understand Luna's reason to cry, because yeah, I'll admit her voice is great and she's a powerful stage performer, but I doubt she'd woo the world with her voice :/

lol all the people calling charice "arrogant" and "stuck up" but the same thing gets mentioned about cl in the cl post and people are jumping in saying she's professional and she's putting on a show. don't really mean to bring cl into this but i just really don't get why people dislike charice so much :( i'm not a fan of her oversinging either, but that doesn't really say anything about her character... :(

Up until this point, I wasn't fond of her voice but was neutral towards her as a person, I just disliked her singing style and kind of her attitude.

Maybe I'm the only one who thinks so, but I thought her comment towards Luna was snotty. It sounded like she was pitying her, like calling more attention to the fact that Luna was crying to make herself look good. Plus, who wants to hear something like that from someone after you lose? Its more humiliating. Luna doesn't need her sympathy/help/pity.

That said, I wish her the best, I have nothing ~personal~ against her, and I'm certainly not envious. Pyramid was alright.

i love charice's confidence. she always sings to her full potential. jsyk all singers need to own the stage, that's their job and they have to put on their best performance each and every time so i don't get why ppl assume
she's being arrogant or that she was trying to embarress luna.
